Anyone have a TRON costume?

on Tuesday, September, 08, 2009 10:26 PM
Hey, I was wondering if anyone in the forum has a Tron costume because if so I would like some advice on how to make one ( especially a Sark costume ) and I'm working on a fan film soon in the immediate future and I would like someone to wear it for a scene. if you must know its a parody of the Mos Eisley cantina and I thought a TRON guy at the bar would be funny, so if your nearby L.A. please tell me. If you do decide to partcipate, I would pay you and pay for your gas.

Of course, I think most members of this forum are familiar with Jay Maynard's Tron suit (http://www.tronguy.net) so you could check out his site for pointers. Also if you wanted to use EL wire, check out some of Janet Hansen's designs at http://www.enlighted.com. I believe she has a tutorial on how to add EL wire to clothing on http://www.instructables.com. Just search for "EL wire" on the site and it should come up.

When I first saw the grainy bootleg of the TL proof-of-concept footage, I thought about trying to make a costume based on those in the footage. I'm still toying with the idea, but since I have no sewing abilities whatsoever, it may prove to be too difficult. Plus, to do it right, it could end up being quite expensive.

As far as a Sark costume, I think I've seen a few pictures out on the Internet, but I don't recall any instructions on how they made it.

I hope that helps! Good luck on the fan film!
