I saw that on the news at lunch today, and was quite surprised. It could mean Dis is going to get an edge, and show that they are aware of other programming, or they may be starting to soften up the comics for TV and stuff for kids. I'm not sure what to think, just seems exiting to think they can invest 4billion and IMO probably for a really cool turn from the usual.

The last time Disney "got an edge" was with the Alien Encounter show at Disney World. In fact, that's about the exact reason they closed it, because it was more intense than most people were used to.

Quite honestly I don't understand what Disney could gain from purchasing this company.order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

I think it's mostly about constant income, the weight of such a huge business needs to have that retail, along with more recently, movie slots to save them.

Just think of What Pixar and other varieties of themes that may present an interesting movie.

It is alot to take in for fans, but it's about investing in the end.

Just think of what this could mean to the model makers who to specacular work, will disney retain contracts, better the working environment for US workers, or will it be a disaster for them.. I gotta wonder at all this.

Interesting skepticism, seeing as how they own and are giving us a nice, seemingly dark sequel. Even more interesting that ShadowDragon1 has a bad feeling about this, considering he's a very vocal proponent (rightfully so) of everything that Tron Legacy is.

Anyways, Disney owns ABC and the last time I checked, their TV programming was just as shocking (not for kids) as the other major networks. And the Disney Channel, with all its chracters teasing and verbally bashing each other, isn't that much better in terms of family values, etc., imo.

So if anyone is worried about the Marvel licenses getting kiddified, or whatever your fears are, I'm not sure we have a lot to worry about. Just remember Tron Legacy when you have moments of worry.

Yes, it may happen that Iron Man will become a bed-time story cartoon, or it will become the next High School Musical starring Hannah Montana, but I haven't seen Disney too afraid to treat licenses with respect ( Tron ).

In fact, if they're able to make more realistic looking CG (non-cartoony) for Incredible Hulk, Spiderman and others, I may actually like that they have the Marvel license.

I'm getting out of here right now, and you guys are invited. -----^

I see Disney as a sort of giant amoeba-octopus with multiple personalities.

It's tendrils are many, and some of those tendrils are doing benign things like funding and promoting Tron Legacy, while other tendrils are doing not so good things.

Some of it's "personalities" are reasonable and do some good work, but it's Disney's other personalities that are not so reasonable and not as benign.

My confidence in Tron Legacy is mostly present as a result of Steve Lisberger's and Jeff Bridge's involvement in the movie. If Lisberger was not involved at all, then I'd be very very apprehensive.

My concern is what could happen with Marvel IP's if the not-so-benign personalities/tendrils of Disney try to
"re-imagineer" things and they by turning Marvel's IP into dumbed down pablum that's worse than "Iron Man: Armored Adventures."

My hope is that the benign side of Disney will let the artists and writters within Marvel to continue on as they see fit and that Disney doesn't say
" Punisher is way too violent, make him less violent! tee hee! Oh and Tony Stark is a friendly nice guy that doesn't ever drink and oh remove his facial hair, we at Disney don't allow facial hair!" abortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

There was Kill Bill. Pulp Fiction. Clerks.

Then there was that bit in the Tron comic (and let's all remember we're talking specifically about Disney's involvement with comics) where I turned Lora into a haggard shrieking corpse, hungry for the death of her son... Or the bit where a young Alan brutalized the aforementioned Lora and disposed of her on the digitizer. Or this page here:

I'm pretty shocked. Disney buying out Marvel? Crazy. I'm not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing.

Also that's very freaky picture, Lurkinghorror. Very freaky... but cool. In a sick way.

I even told people I'd wear my Deadpool shirt at Disney World with a pair of Mickey ears just because I could.

Got weird looks.

What does Disney gain? Over 5,000 characters.

The characters they are stuck with are nearing 100 years old, and do not speak to a modern audience.

They had to close all their retail stores because the public really doesn't give a rats tail about the product they have.
Meanwhile millions of dollars get spent on Wolverine movies, games, and toys, that Disney isn't seeing a dime of.

I raised my daughter on Marvel, we recently watched all of X-men Evolution and the new Wolverine series in a week. Great stuff. You mention Disney to my kid and she'll eviscerate you.

Then why are you here...?

Tron is associated with Disney. Your logic is baffling me. (Not trying to be snarky, but I'm really confused.)

And actually, Marvel has been losing money for ten years now. Wolverine can only be overmilked till everyone and their mom's sick of him. (I got sick of him a long time ago. Deadpool for me!)
