If you haven't seen Be Kind Rewind, please do, its funny, and my home town shows up on the map at the beginning of the film. Yay fame!
Also the location was shot right next door to the secret location of Passaic Comic Book's warehouse, wherein about a five million dollars in comics and porn were hidden, I got a bloody nose from doing inventory in all the dust and 120 degree temperatures.
Also my kindergarten was around the corner. The location of Jack Black's trailer in the film used to be the home of a neon green canal of toxic waste back when I was a kid, it used to amaze me. Next door to that was Passaic Board of Education, which had been an abandoned building for at least twenty years, I suppose because of the toxins.
Oh the location where the film begins with Jack Black spray painting is an underpass of Route 21, and that section of the highway was left unfinished for well over twenty years, it just stopped right about there! They used to take us for walks onto it back when I was a kinder-kid.
