So, CoD4's follow up was announced last December, and that's about the last time Activision said anything about it. All we know at the time is that it's being developed by Infinity Ward. Here's a recently leaked "screenshot":

Apparently the reveal trailer was loaded with hidden secrets, like teddy bears, subs, the statue of Jesus over in Rio (which is being disputed over whether it's that, a heli tail, or similar looking statue in a different locale). Also, perks made an appearance in the upper right hand corner after the men step out of the elevator:


Seems like it takes place in an airport. Possible reference to the Mile High Club mission in CoD4?

Yeah, it's been suggested that the shoe one has something to do with a faster sprint speed, and the knives one has something to do with knife to knife combat/defense.

I hope they do away with (or at least tweak) the Martyrdom perk. I suggested to my brother that you shouldn't be able to drop a grenade unless you kept one in your inventory. So you'd be left with the dilemma: Should I use this frag, or leave it for the fool that kills me?

Or maybe if you don't have any primary 'nades left, DROP A FLASHBANG! lol

That's actually a REALLY good idea, but it could be a little unbalanced with the x3 primary grenades perk.

Solution:

x3 Primary Grenades perk cannot be active if Martyrdom is.

It was also noted that you could hear someone say "Flight *number* is now departing at gate *number*" near the beginning of the trailer. I think it's either a small detail, or the flight you're on in the Mile High Club mission.

Also, some speculation on Joystiq's comments section suggests that an evil teddy bears mode will replace nazi zombies (or a similar mode with teddy bears, notably because of the teddy bear in the trailer). One comment in particular:
