Vladimir Putin's kinda like the Otto Von Bismark of present day; he's got the power but he ain't in charge. Also, ow does that have to do with the USSR? It doesn't exist anymore you know.

Well.. no.. of course not.. and it is rather ignorant for me to title this thread as such... but... still..

I'm glad you brought it up.... Hikaru...

Just keep in mind that I'm a cold-war guy.. (grew up in the tail end of it all).... so most of this is sort of 80's dogman that just doesn't go way with me...

My grandma's is still obsessed with the Cold War and the USSR. Everytime we go to the beach she sees the cargo ships and thinks they're Russian submarines. lol where to buy abortion pill abortion types buy abortion pill online

It is a little scary... There is something that tells us that Russia has plans to start a 2nd Soviet regime... and it is very possible... but judgment can be mixed with confusion when something like the war on Georgia..

I have a feeling that things are going to get really bad.. I believe that this is just the 'spark' to an old 'fuse' that may become something..... well.. not-so-good..

Russia starting a second soviet regime is sort of the concept of a game that I've got an idea for. It's the future, and the Russians have started the "New Soviet Red Army", which is known throughout the game as the "NCRA". I've got a pretty interesting visual look set up for it; Really polygonal, with a huge lack of textures, similar to most of the geometry in TRON. The reason I chose a new soviet army was because I really want to capture the feel of a 1980's arcade game. In those games, you've always got soviets in those games as enemies. In fact, the game I'm currently working on, S.T.E.A.L.T.H. has you sneaking into a top secret communist base during the Cold War. The purpose is to give a nostalgic vibe of those psuedo-storylines in old arcade games that you could see during the attract mode. abortion pills online abortion questions cytotec abortion

I think they call it the 'whirlwind' or something... but I too have had many storylines that revolve around it as well and even wrote short stories back when I was in college around 1996.

(for everyone else reading this thread) To help make things clear... I have no hate towards the Russian people.. I happen to have a lot of good friends who live in Moscow and Siberia. I look at Boris Yeltsin as a hero for democracy...

However, knowing Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin's history and looking at his current actions... well... I guess everyone knows how I feel..

I'd like to get Mutoid Man's thoughts on this... We have a similar mind set....

"MAD MAX" "RED DAWN"....... Scary stuff...

TRON.DLL... Once you are finished, let me know... I'm really looking forward to your games... I hope I can finish mine soon..

Yeah, living under the constant threat of nuclear war simply because some douchebags couldn't deal with the fact that the whole world didn't fancy the idea of living in their Godless communist dystopia was not and is not pretty cool. At all. The old hard-liners in Russia are still pissed, that much is obvious.

As far as mixing TRON and the USSR, it was already done. Watch the movie and look for:

Bad guys in red?
Check!
Bad guys trying to take over the world by force and/or sneaky underhanded methods?
Check!
Bad guys headed by an oppressive socialist dictator who forces everyone to serve him for the supposed good of all?
Check!
Bad guys suppress religion?
Check!
If you aren't a bad guy then you live in fear, your life is a bleak and monotone excuse for existence, and you are likely to eventually be put to death?
Check!

Yeah, it's been done, and quite well I think.

At a very young age it was made very clear what was going on... and it was scary... We also seem to be a much closer nation back in the 80's. If anyone was radical about anything it was mainly patriotism (not talking about the Nam era). Ever since the cold war ended, things got really different here.

As for game ideas... I have a story line for a series of games I've been wroking on (hope to finish this winter with one of them) that is somewhat related to the idea of a 2nd Soviet regime and the aftermath of a nuclear war... but it's going to be a while yet.

Yeah, the liberal socialists - the so-called "intelligentsia" - are really pushing hard for this country to become yet another flaccid social democracy. It just kills them that President Ronald W. Reagan came along and crushed their dreams of the world kneeling before and acknowledging the superiority of the Soviet way of life.abortion pills online abortion questions cytotec abortion

I agree. I'm very surprised how many college students are made to believe that liberal socialism is the correct type of government. The truth is that any type of socialism takes freedoms away from people and promotes bigger government that allows any type of agenda they so wish to pursue.... where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill onlineabortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion
