Hooray for Vista....
I don't understand this at all..
I just used IZarc to exctract the DA-7982 file to my Tron 2.0/Custom/Resources folder. I just went into the game to check and it wasn't there. Then I checked Windows explorer. No custom folder. All of the custom maps I had gotten so far (except for DA-7982) were still showing up on the list in-game. IZarc showed the Custom directory for TRON 2.0, but Windows explorer won't? WTF?
Update: Just tried manually going to C:/Program Files/Games/Tron2.0/Custom. Windows said it couldn't find the directory, yet all of these maps are showing up. Also, in a related note, Windows Explorer is only showing the default songs and two of the custom songs I added for Frets on Fire, yet I can still play all of the songs it's not showing. This is very confusing.
Update 2: Just re-extracted the .rar file for DA-7982, and succesfully extracted it to C:/Program Files/Tron2.0/Custom/Resources, a directory that Windows Explorer claimed to be "Unable to find".
Update 3: Okay, this is REALLY WEIRD. I just went onto a server on TRON 2.0 running DA-7982, and the map worked, even though it wouldn't show up in my list of available maps! I had to tech a computer that ran Vista last night and it was the biggest headache I've had all summer.
Vista had a minor Vundo so instead of alerting the user (or allowing the virus scanner to alert) it just automatically booted the computer into safe mode.
I was able to fix it and I removed the little nasties but it took me a little bit to talk Vista out of booting into safe mode automatically.
Why couldn't MS just make a XP2 or something?
... and now I'm having doubts about Windows 7... MS is trying to get everyone to use touch screens. May I ask what type of drugs MS is giving out to their programmers/designers?
Ok... sorry for ranting...
You might be using a new service pack which makes Vista more competent. I've read something about that a few months ago on the overly hyped 'ZDnet'... I'm just really glad that you are able to make the games that you want to play work.. |

Welcome to my word
I never botered extracting, mostly because I couldn't figure out how to do it.
All my maps work except for LC Map Pack 5, even thought it shows up in REZ Handler. I still need to redowload it and see if that fixes it.

Well, in your story you are giving us 2 diff directories...so who can really know...update 1 dir is not the same as update 2 dir. Also..how many .REZ files do you have in your custom/resources directory?
What kind of system are you running Vista on?

Touch screens are going to look pretty filthy really quick, it's a dead concept. |

Vista likes to hide certain folders by default, and is more aggressive about it than XP was. All in the name of "protecting" the user, from messing up Windows by accidentally deleting important files. But programs like IZArc don't care, and show all the folders anyway.
I can't remember the reason for it, but I'm going to ask again . . . why are you not using REZ Handler to install maps? This is precisely the kind of thing it was made for, to avoid the headache of finding where to install a map. It handles it automatically, for you. No need to use IZArc.
When you say DA-7982 wasn't showing up on your list of available maps, do you mean in the game? The game has a bug, where sometimes it doesn't show any maps in the list on the left side. If you hold your mouse cursor over the box for the list, and use the up and down arrow keys, you'll see the map list suddenly scroll into view.
