You know, in hindsight, I really should've worn my tron shirt that day instead on my birthday. XP

Sweet! Where is that?

I got a TRON shirt, too, but it's just red circuitry on grey.

Planet Hollywood in Downtown Disney.

There's no admission for Downtown Disney so it should be a snap to get in.

BTW, the suit is on the third floor of the restaurant and it's seriously bigger than the one I went to in Dallas in 1996.

I'd be very happy in the presence of an original TRON costume too!

Of course, I'd be even happier if it were MINE, but I'd settle for having my pic taken near it.

That's awesome, Kia.

Am I the only one, though, who sees a potential problem with this picture? Did they only make one Tron costume worn by Bruce Boxleitner? If so, then someone who just spent $30K on an eBayed version of the costume just got swindled b/c Planet Hollywood has it!

But I'll assume a number of Boxleitner-worn costumes are in existence, in which case the eBay bidder is okay. Then again, why would the costumes be slightly different? E.g., the eBayed one doesn't seem to have horizontal stripe across the top of each pad covering the tricep. http://cgi.liveauctions.ebay.com/Complete-hero-costume-from-Tron_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ52933QQihZ013QQitemZ230055580372QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW". We need wwwmwww to do an analysis to determine what all the differences are betw/ the costumes, if any.

I'm getting out of here right now, and you guys are invited. -----^

lol... good point... however, the suit don't look too bad. Better than my collection. All I have is a few pins, the game, the movie, and a homemade lightcycle that I never finished.

The boots is what throws it off. It looks smudged with dirt and also lacks the lines.

I'm pretty sure there were plenty of those costumes, but then again, there is still a risk of forgeries.

Cool, I hope I've inspired some skeptical eyes to try and help fill in the blanks.

The eBay auction says something to the effect of the one they were trying to sell is 'one of the most complete Tron suits'... but does that mean it's one of many Tron suits that are out there (Bruce Boxleitner); or one of many Tron suits (Yori, Dumont, Sark, Tron, Ram, Crom, etc.) that are out there? Hard to know what sense of the word "Tron" they are using there.

Happy belated birthday, by the way, Kia!abortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion

Well, the eBay one is missing a belt... but other than that they look similar. I'm sure they had more than one costume. Didn't Dave say there's one still in the Burbank studios, as well?

Great picture, Kia. Thanks for sharing.

Cool picture Kia. I hope to make it down to Walt Disney World myself sometime soon.

And when did I become an expert on the costumes? I'm sure there was more then one suit made. I once had a conversation via email with one of the prop masters on the Back to the Future movies and I remember him saying that every hero prop had at least 10 backups so I'm sure something similar was true here. Regarding the missing black stripe on the tricep pad, it could be something as simple as a piece of black electrical tape that has since fallen off. Personally... for $30K I'd want the belt too and a working light cycle to drive it home in. I wonder what the cost was that Disney had to pay to have these made. $30K might have been enough to get 10 copies made of every costume used in the film at the time.
