Has anyone ever considered making a CLU figure? Perhaps someone could make one by making a mold of the Flynn figure and pouring in clear yellow instead of the blue plastic.

1) At some point I'm to have an expert customizer that I know (Nick from the UK) make several figures for me (including CLU). It's going to cost quite a bit so it will probably be a 2008 collecting goal. For those of you interested in seeing Nick's work, check out his site here.
2)I've heard from two different people that there was a Tomy tank prototype auctioned off in an old Toy Shop magazine sometime in the mid 90's. I haven't seen the ad for it, but admittedly I haven't really been looking. Unfortunately the one dealer I know with a vintage TOMY contact recently misplaced the person's contact info and has no way to reach him. At some point I hope to track down a different former TOMY employee so hopefully all is not lost.

This is news to me. If a picture ever turns up I'd love to see it. I wonder what it sold for in the mid 90's?

Man I soooo wanted a Clu figure. To matter the fact I even took a Han Solo figure and painted him up to look like Clu. (I think I covered him with masking tape to make Clu's armor and then colored THAT orange.)
I also made a few card board Bits along the way too.
Now days (two decades later) I would make a cast of the Flynn/Tron character, pour in some plastic ressin with yellow dye... boom.. after some further sculpting and yellow lines painted on, a CLU FIGURE!
Why have I not done it yet? Beats me.
