It seems I got myself stuck helping Ma3a access the IO node to speak to "guest". I fixed the com ports okay, but did not have the right permissions to access the IO node afterwards. Does anyone know if there is a cheat code that gives you all the permissions available on the current level? Or, can anyone help me figure this one out? Thanks!

Which Permission are you missing to get acess to the I/o node? If your going aruond and derezzing everything you should have picked them up along the way.

Nope, there isn't any cheat code to give you all the permissions.
But the thing is, you don't even need a permission to access that I/O Node. You receive your first permission after using the Node, on that level.
The game must have decided to go wonky on you. Try loading your last saved game from before your entered Alan's Desktop PC, or load the autosave for this level. Start the level over, and see if it clears up the problem.
What version of the game are you running? The version number is in the bottom right or top right corner, on the main menu.

I'm using the most current version, 1.0462. Idunno what happened, I reconfigged the comports, and tried to access the node after the reconfig, but it showed I had 3 or 4 permission sets missing.
Is this something we can (hopefully) call to Buena Vista Interactive's or Monolith's attention?

Compucore: I am playing in 'easy' mode right now, and haven't killed many enemies on this level yet. Those I have killed either had nothing in their core dumps, or the same permisison set repeated from the last kill.
As for the archive bins I have found, I cannot access the one with the permissions in it by the upstairs light bridge, and cannot reach the one across the lift shaft. Hell, it won't even let me activate the lift!
I'm upset about this.

are you getting the correct node?
there are two I/O nodes near the comm configuration
there's the one near Ma3a, and there's one next to the comm configuration controls. I found out that the one near ma3a doesn't work, because you need lots of permissions which are unavailable, but the one on the other side worked fine. i think it needs a permission, which is easily accessible from a nearby bin
