Questions unanswered . . .

on Saturday, November, 04, 2006 10:15 PM
I am playing the single player story again, and paying a little bit more attention to emails, video, etc. I am more disappointed than ever that sequels are not going to follow and answer some of the questions. Doing a search here only makes it worse
Who was Gibbs, Jr., and why was he so eager to sell Encom so quickly?
Why did Flynn up and disappear? (hopefully this will be speculated in the SVG comics)

and the MAIN question . . .

Where in the world is Tron?

What we need is another Tron . . .

It's been a while since I played Tron 2.0... but here is what I remember. I hope someone will correct me if wrong.

Who was Gibbs, Jr., and why was he so eager to sell Encom so quickly?

Wasn't he the son of Walter who ended up being the owner of Encom? I think Flynn was only a senior exec (taking Dillinger's position) and not anything higher than that. I think Walter died or something , and then Gibbs Jr. just wanted to get rid of the company. I could be completely off base on this one :/

Why did Flynn up and disappear?

Didn't he get bored with being an exec and playing the corporate game and wanted to do something else?

Where in the world is Tron?

After the events of the movie, Alan tried to modify Tron to become a more powerful firewall/security program, but it had some unexpected affects. Tron was shelved in favor of focusing on digitizing technology and the legacy code for Tron stored away on Alan's personal PC.

I'm also playing the game, albeit for the first time, and having gone all the way to the end I was a little disappointed by the ending. They were obviously hoping to continue with a sequel but never got the go ahead. So we're left wondering just where Flynn went and if he'll ever come back.

There is the GBA Tron game KillerApp which features Tron in it as the main character. He's brought out of stasis for some reason. I haven't played it all the way through, so I don't know the whole plot of it or anything yet, but I'm guessing it at least takes place some time after the PC game. So...there's Tron. *shrugs* I was really hoping for more explanations to things, but like I said, I think they were aiming for sequels and never got them.
