I really enjoyed it, but frankly it wasn't quite what i was expecting either.

Yeah, I wasn't gonna say... I don't really want to burst any bubbles and hope I don't, so don't let me. I'm sure it's a good show and I will definitely see it if it comes to town...
But I recently saw some VGL youtube.com videos and was left a little underwhelmed, especially with the Tron sequence  Granted, I know it'd be better live versus on video -- the same is normally true when you watch concerts on TV -- but certain aspects of the videos didn't impress me very much.

To be totally honest, the most kick ass part of the evening for me was standing backstage while the orchestra practiced the TRON theme.
Hearing it from 10 feet away was awesome.

Having just watched the youtube videos, I'm now debating whether or not I should bother going when the show comes to NYC.
VGL seems to be a mix of game music and classical music set to games. I'd rather hear all game music.
The TRON segment was OK, but didn't seem to be as cool as it could've been. Maybe it's much different and better when experienced live; still, you'd think the videos - even being as low quality as they are - would've been a little more exciting.

Yeah, I expected more pzazz with the technical lighting during Tron. Instead, it was very basic.
I could only imagine hearing the Tron music from 10 feet away though! That would rock!

Well, in that VLG Classic Medley video, they play some classical music, like "Flight of the Valkyries" (or "Ride of the Valkyrie," or whatever it's called) during Tempeste and Centipede. I have played a game or two that uses that song; just not in Tempeste or Centipede 
I'm okay with this. I like some classical music. Besides, they wouldn't be able to play the Tron movie music if they had your rule.
