Hello all,
I need to build a light cycle real quick anyone got blueprints? Ok really, I just need to spruce up the office a bit and I figure a nice set of framed blueprints of a light cycle would do just nice. I'm looking for those fishbowl type prints. The ones where you see a front view then above that you see an overhead view, then a left and right side view... you know, like blueprints.
Something that had these type of images, http://www.3gcs.com/tron/production/Lightcycle/MAGI%206.jpg and http://www.3gcs.com/tron/production/Lightcycle/MAGI%207.jpg all on one big image.. like this, http://www.yojoe.com/vehicles/83/skystriker/skystriker_blueprints.jpg
Anyone know if anything like that is already out there? I searched but only found this page http://www.3gcs.com/tron/production/Lightcycle/
Thanks,

Heh. Have you seen this thread?

It's still on-going as Carl and I hash out some really fine details about the lightcycles. I don't know of any blueprints already out there like your example, but I'm planning on making something just like that once the part-list is firmed up. The closest thing right now might be this:
Check out my site if you want to make your own lightcycle if you can't find what you are looking for:

Particularly see the construction and assembly details. I could probably also render something blueprint style, but my model is not 100% accurate yet, if that's okay by you?

How about something like this:
What physical size are you planning for the print out? I can render at 150dpi x whatever your desired output size.
I know the text is missing, but that will come once the final parts list is agreed upon. Also, the TRON font would be in order, and the three lines at the top should change to something else... I was just copying the look of the image you posted as an example.

Another link!?!? So much to read, so little time. I skimmed it though, love the images! Can't wait to dig into it.

Yes cool.
The blueprint I was showing as an example looked ok when it was a toy plane, but I think on this image to make it look like a real blueprint, maybe lose the grid, or make it small so the cycles appear to be bigger. or maybe make it lighter.
And maybe add more wireframe work to it. I think it looks cool when you can see some wirefrae work like how you have on those 'shoulder' pieces.
As far as the size. I'm not quite sure. Whatever the standard house blueprint size is. what is that.. like 3 feet wide by 2 feet tall?abortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion |

Greetings, Programs.
Hey, matthew180,
Cool stuff. Reminds me of my G.I. Joe toy blueprints.
Yo Joe!

ok, you all have inspired me. I think I'm going to create my own based on Mathew's and wwwwmwwww's creations.
It's still in it's early stages but here is what I got so far.
My goal is to be able to do almost every angle. I had numbers between the arrows, but wasn't sure how to represent them. I had the front hub at like 22" but wasn't sure how close (if at all) I was.. or should I go with like a micro scale. The front hub being, like I dunno... 0.0000000004 LOL
Any pointers?abortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion |

That's a very cool start on a blueprint you have going! As for more wire, well that's really the trick with modern 3D software, it's designed to make images look real as opposed to cartoonish, computer generated, or drafted... Also, the lightcycles are made from primitives, thus they have no mesh framework per se. The only reason the shoulders on my model have any wires in them is because they are in fact a nurb mesh only because my 3D software does not have a torus primitive.
Also, a lot of the extra blue lines in that aircraft example are decals and such, and lightcycles don't have decals. It's a tough thing to simulate and probably easier to do what you did, start with a rendered model and use a 2D program to trace the lightcycle and add the lines where you see fit.
As for the numbers, we have not come up with any units yet, but the values will be relative, so make them anything you want really. What I plan to eventually provide are units of measure of the parts in relationship to a reference part, like the front wheel. I think for a computer model, values in pixels would be appropriate.
I'll certainly keep messing with it. As for the grid, I can make it any size, however keep in mind real blue prints are not on a grid and the lines are actually white on a dark blue inked paper.
If you really want a 24"x36" image, that will be 3600x5400 resolution at 150dpi. Double that if you want a 300dpi image. Do you have a way to print something that large?

Thanks Matthew.
I think what I'll end up doing is saving this as a 300 dpi vector based image and take to any print shop here in town.
I live in North Hollywood, and I pass a dozen printers between here and the video store on Lankershim Blvd. Printers here are a dime a dozen.

Cool. I have to drive 33 miles to get anywhere that has a printer that can handle stuff like that...
