Still love this game

I've just played through TRON 2.0 (PC) for the second time and really enjoyed it again. The locations are so varied (bizarrely as it's all set in a computer) and it's a really satisfying romp.

Sad to have finished it so to prolongue the vibe I'm completing all the single player light cycle races. Just played one of the easier ones and an A.I. player got himself stuck in his own trails, just going around in small and smaller rectangles, sparks flying. He went on for ages just saying 'No!' and stuff like that. Quite eerie really. I was riding big squares around the outside just watching and trying not to hit anything until he had no more room left

Be interesting to know how the A.I. works. In his case not too well!

Anyway, trying to think of a way to play the game through again but make it fresh. Wonder if it's possible to play it through without using a disc weapon. Hmm...

Yep, what a great game! I still have it installed in my system so I can go back and play parts of it every now and then. I always love the environments and their variety in this game.

With regards to gaming, I wish Tron 3.0, an expansion pack, or a re-make of the movie in video game format could be made. One where the A.I. is more varied and a bit more interesting. Adding more realistic stealth gameplay mechanics would be awesome, as there are some parts in the movie where the main characters sneak around. And more non-linearity.

But Tron 2.0 is still a great game and I'm glad Disney/BVI made it.on line abortion pill misoprostol dose abortion medical abortion pill online

Hi Traahn
I think remaking the movie as a game is a great idea

The one thing I would have liked to have seen in TRON 2.0 was better integration between the FPS stuff and the light cycle stuff (the scene hanging around the holding bay before the first race was cool though). I think it would be nice to escape the game grid on the cycles (like they did in the movie) and be able to roam freely a bit like GTA. Have the tanks and the recognizers on the loose too. Be good to be able to 'convert' to the cycles at will and walk when you like and maybe even drive tanks and recognizers. I guess it's just nice to play inside that environment.

Have said all that I'd happily buy any new TRON game. Oh, and watch a movie sequel too!

You're thinking exactly the same thing I did. I was disappointed that you couldn't drive the Light Cycle freely on at least one level. Especially considering that it would have been very easy for Monolith to implement.

No One Lives Forever let you drive a motorcycle freely, on large outdoor levels. Just tweak that a little, and it would have worked beautifully for Tron 2.0.

If you'd like to have a bit of a new gameplay experience, download the User Error mod from the Tron-Sector file archive. It's a Single Player mission for the game.

And if you'd like to see another game or expansion, consider signing my petition (if you haven't already):

Hi redrain85
It would have been (would be) so cool to roam freely. I remember just driving around in GTA for ages finding my favourite jumps.

I find it interesting in the movie that once the light cycles leave the game grid they behave differently. They no longer have trails and they lean when they turn which is a nice touch. If you had tanks, recognizers, ICPs firing at you then the cycle could derez but you'd still be alive and have a chance to hide which would keep the game play moving. Then maybe there'd be a counter ticking down to when you could get the cycle up and running again.

Anyway...

Thanks for the tip re the User Error mod. I'll check it out.

Just signed the petition!

It sounds like what you're asking for is a bit more open-ended gameplay like an RPG and I second that notion. where you goto locations on a map based on the story and the level is inside the building, area, wahtever.

And the lightcycles were kind of random, mainly the one in EN12-82.

Oh, and while we're on a wishlist. I'd like to be able to play that game in the beginning that Flynn played with Crom (Death Duel?) I think Sark mentions the name. Might be technically difficult. I'd also like to be able to walk in and pilot a tank and a recognizer.

As for someone elses idea, the light cycle would just be a function of the rod, which it is, and use energy just like anything else.

I love this game too, I agree that some of the Light-Cycle races were kind of random.
