Nope, nowhere in the game or in the manual does it explain why the sniper gun is called LOL.

But, I think I can answer this just the same. It's a pretty good bet that it stands for Laughing Out Loud.

And why would it be named that? Because there's a tradition of players in Multiplayer games, exclaiming "LOL! Headshot!" whenever they snipe someone.

So, that's my theory as to why it's named LOL.

How about Loaded and Obviously Loud!!!. I think there was a gun in Quake that was called BFG Or BFK gun. And it was kind of obvious the literal acronym for it. Who knows. Its a tool for shooting up something.

VROOOOOOOOOMMMM!!!

To compute or not to compute that is the question at hand. Tis nobler to compile in C++ or in TASM.

Yeah I had a feeling it meant laughing out load. I thought it might be a joke of the digital lingo of today.

but yeah now that I think about it "LOL Headshot!" makes alot of sense. Lots of people use that phrase in games I play everyday gets annoying real quick too.

Okay, this is more than a coincidence. Has to be. This is the second time that something mentioned on Tron-Sector, ended up becoming part of a Wikipedia article.

Just days after this thread was started, the Tron 2.0 Wikipedia article was updated to mention what the initials LOL meant.

Not a big deal, but I do find it interesting . . . and a little bit weird.
