Anyways, since there's a lot of talk about the "Cars" movie, I'm going to beat Sketch yet again *Stands behind a lead shield to avoid more gridbug droppings* and create this spoiler topic. So if you want to talk "Cars" with some spoilers involved, feel free to do it here! However, if you don't want the movie spoiled for yourself, don't read anything past this post! Comprendes? Awesomesauce!

Hu Ha! Beaten by digitized lead! ... wait... this only protects my front... but my backside is unguarded... oh fudge. *sees a mob of angry gridbugs forming behind her* I think it's going hurt to sit down for a long while.... ;;
Anyways, I think I open up the floor with the first question of this thread: What was your most fav part in the movie and why? Dicuss. Debate. Talk.

Check out this tidbit from http://www.allpar.com/cars/adopted/hudson-hornet.html:
Overall, Hudson won 27 of the 34 NASCAR Grand National races in 1952, followed by 22 of 37 in 1953, and 17 of 37 in 1954. It was an incredible accomplishment, especially from a car that had some legitimate luxury credentials. |
If you've seen the movie then you understand the quote's relevance. Neat, huh?
"We are, after all, not God." - Cmdr. J. J. Adams "C is for cookie. That's good enough for me." - Cookie Monster "If money is the root of all evil, I'd like to be a bad, bad man." - Huey Lewis & the News

Much noted on the birds. Thanks for pointing that out. But here's some other interesting tidbits:
- Has anyone payed attention to some of the flies that appear in some of the scenes. I kinda had to watch closesly for this myself. but those flies (Much like some of the other animal "Carsonas") were actually cars too!
- The writting on McQueen's tires say "lightyear" on them
- "Dinaco" I'm pretty dead sure showed up in Toy Story.
- McQueen's number, 95, is when Toy Story came out
- The clouds in the sky I think were tire treads
- Some of the rock formations were actually car parts
- Potentially rumor, but the Pizza Planet truck is rumored to be in there. I have yet to confim this one. Can anyone help confirm it?
Anyways, The tractor tipping scene was dead hillarious.
McQueen: What am I supposed to do?
Mater: You beep em'!
McQueen: But I don't have a Horn!
Mater: Well... do somethin'!
McQueen: *Revs engine rather loudly and tips all the tractors in the field*
Oh! And my other fav quote:
Mater: If anybody asks, we were out wackin' mailboxes! *Drives away quickly to avoid the heard of frightened tractors*
Although, I kinda felt sorry for Red, the fire truck. Everyone makes that poor guy cry. Aww.....

Oh did you notice the Emeryville sign before the big race.Emeryville is where Pixar's HQ is
BTW:I noticed every one you posted except the Pizza Planet truck and the rock formations and I think the fire truck's name is Fred not Red

I got confirmation. It's most definately Red. He's also sometimes refered to as "Peterbuilt." Actually, as another interesting sidenote, Red has his own short "Omake" (Short comic) too. This shows up in the Cars Artbook.

Awww.... *Pokes* Was someone reading the Cars Artbook?
I dunno who the brothers represent. But I think I'll take the guess that it's a referance to someone @ Pixar or someone very dear to Pixar?
BTW, I made a mistake on the Peterbuilt part.... based off of someone else's mistake. Peterbuilt is NOT Red's alternate name. It's the name of the truck McQueen mistakes for Mack. ^^;;; My bad!

Okay. Next question/topic of discussion: Was anyone shocked about what Happened to The King at the end? What did you guys think about it?

Is there an Artbook out already? That's something I need to track down. I don't see it at amazon.com. The most complete list of Cars books I could find was here:
http://www.allaboardtoys.com/disney_pixar_cars/books/
I even tried google and the third link listed actually turned out to be this thread here at TRON-Sector. Is it called something other then "Cars Artbook"?
Thanks,

I've always found it interesting that not only is the artisic skill awesome in the movie itself but it's also equally awesome in pre-production and in the production stage artwork. They always seem to put a lot of care in to what they are doing. ^^ And they also seem to have a lot of fun doing it too!
