Tron Artists

on Tuesday, June, 06, 2006 11:47 PM
Was on imdb and browsed through the crew listings and curiosity got the best of me, so I did some searches on some names and found some sites. It's neat to see what some of the artists that where involved with Tron are doing today.

Larry Grossman (Background Artist in Tron)

His awsome art site: Retro Visions

William Arance (Airbrush Artist in Tron)

His awsome art site as well: arance.netabortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion

Those are nice. I also like the sites listed under Links > Official Sites here at the Sector: http://www.tron-sector.com/links.aspx?category=Official%20Sites
I really like Richard Taylor's site where you see commercials he was involved with. The "SAS Flood" and "SAS Harvest" commercials have some Tron-esque elements to them.

And regarding Bonnie Macbird's site, it says in her Bio: "When she left Uni to pursue screenwriting, her first draft of her first script, TRON, came in at 115 pages. The script later sold to Disney resulting in the groundbreaking film of 1982. During the next several years, MacBird continued to write mainly on spec, selling or optioning every one of her feature film scripts."
My question is: How much did Steven write, and how much did Bonnie write? Or did Bonnie write the whole story? I'm dumbfounded now. I will have to pull my "Art of Tron" book out now and see what it says in there, since I think it makes mention of story credits.

And Syd Mead's site is cool, too. I want to get his DVD collection some day.

PS: What in the world is up with Jeff Bridges' site?? LOL

PPS: I'm just going through all the links. Check out the link for the 20th Anniv. DVD. http://disney.go.com/disneyvideos/liveaction/tron/intro.html. After the kinda neat intro, it takes you to a screen where you can view 'the trailer' for the movie. My question is who put this trailer together? It's not the original movie trailer, and it is not done very well at all, imo.

PPPS: LOL, look like Lawrence Livermore is shooting I/O towers up into the sky now (visit their link):

Not trying to steal your thread, Sketch. I just thought I'd throw this stuff in since we're on the topic of people who helped with Tron order abortion pill morning after pill price where to buy abortion pill

My understanding is that it was a collaboration between her and Steven. I think he mainly wrote the story and came up with the Tron character and world, while Bonnie wrote the screenplay. Could be wrong, though.

Also, there are some uncredited contributions to the script too. Like Alan Kay was supposed to have given some input.

BTW, I found this on Tron-Sector . . . should help clear things up a bit:

I actually thought the trailer was all right. But the flash intro to that page, on the other hand, really sucks.

Well, I think it's safe to say they could definitely both use a lot of improvement (flash, and trailer). For it being Disney/BVI, they could should've been able to whip something better out in their sleep, imo.

When I clicked the trailer link, I guess I was expecting the actual old 1982 trailer; not this collage of pieced together movie clips w/ no voice-over and repetitive graphics that I think a 5-year old could do.

I think Jeff Bridge's site was creatively done with an air of simplicity. It shows a little more than we would assume should be in an artist's site.

The only thing that bothered me about the original script was that the character was going to be a pizza delivery boy who gets zapped into the computer world.

Pizza delivery boy?! That's ... um, *too* cliche right there. ;_; And it also doesn't explain how he would have been there in the first place. (Food near computer = taboo, though we've broken it now. XP)
