Question to Cueball and any other 3d model maker

on Sunday, May, 14, 2006 12:20 AM
I'm just starting out (literally just begin last three weeks) and one of the things that has puzzeled me is how you get the outlines for the objects , i thought that in lightwave 3d i could make the object twice by using render outlines for one version and then a 1 color version and get the effect but in final render it doesn't see the outlines object completely? do you guys uv texture those outlines, all of them? or is there some procedural map or something u could suggest, would be greatly appricieted.

Hi!

In Lightwave its pretty easy:
Object Properties, Edges...

Then its just a matter to set up the surfaces,
if you dont want to show up the edges everywhere.

So i checked Silouette Edges, Unsheared Edges and
Surface Borders.
Them i give the surfaces which form an edge two different
surfaces to make the edge show up.

Dear Cueball,
Thanks so much, getting past that problem propelled me to make a animated piece and to make sense of the keying for the timeline, it was like a domino effect, once i was able to create those objects everything fell into place. Oh and nice work.

P.s. Is there any way to delete a surface on an object, wen in surface editor they are irrmoveable?
