Believe it or not, there was a lot of work put in to that. I thought the joke would only work if it had enough in there to really make people wonder if it were true or not. Detail - that's the key... the key to absurdity!

It wasn't meant to sound right. I wanted to put together something as absurd as possible AND yet still give it some believability just to freak people out a little for a good April Fool joke.

I believe the text in the IE title bar is the original text that was put in there when TRON-Sector was taking the shape and form we now see it in today. At the time (around 2002) everyone was indeed expecting a TRON sequel. Even in the 20th Anniversary DVD bonus CD, the TRON sequel was talked about in a way that made it seem as if it were a sure thing.

Perhaps that text should be modified a little now, but like I said - it says that because that was the intent of things when it was originally put in there (as best I can calculate, anyway).

Sorry man - it was just an April Fool joke. I wasn't out to upset anyone or let anyone down with that. In fact, I specifically made the whole story as absurd as I could, at the same time giving it just enough believability to make people wonder about it. And of course, there was the link at the bottom of the article - it was a FAKE link to Disney's site about the article in full, but it was in reality a link to the image that explained the whole thing was an April Fool gag.

Again - it was just a joke - on April Fools' Day. I did post the story on April Fool's eve, but that was because I wasn't sure how early I'd be able to post it on April Fool's day itself AND because I wanted TRON fans on the east of the great pond to be able to read it on April 1st (which it was already over there).

It was supposed to make you smile and give you a chuckle, not upset you.
