Neat. Is it a 2.0 mod or something? Or some kind of stand alone game? It does definately look to be Tron related, since the ol MCP is there in that last screen shot.

That does look pretty cool!
The author says it's not based on any existing Tron game, like Tron 2.0. It sure looks similar, though. Almost makes you wonder.
But it's a forum for Blitz 3D, so I guess we can take his word for it.

Greetings, madjack and welcome to TRON-Sector!
Your Tank Universal game looks awesome! At first, I thought it was set in the TRON universe, but I guess its more of a stand-alone TRON inspired universe. That's cool though. Anything TRON inspired (and looking) is cool in my book!
You may just be looking for some TRON fan feedback on your game, but I hope you decide to stick around. You're obviously a TRON fan. If you stick around here for a while, I bet you become a bigger TRON fan. It just kind of happens.
Have you ever made any games directly TRON related? Do you plan to? I bet you'd do an awesome job if you did!
I'm sure people will chime in with some feedback about your game soon. This particular forum "Games: Other" sometimes gets overlooked by much of the population here. The "General" and "Other" forums seem to be the most traffic heavy. Give it a little time and people will discover it.
While you're here, a couple of threads you may want to hit are:
What's with your name?
And...
Don't forget to PING in every time you have yourself Another dose of TRON
I think you'll enjoy your time here at The Sector

Sorry, I ment to get back to you today and I forgot...
First off, great job on this over all. I'm sure it has taken quite a bit of your time. You should feel good at what you've accomplished solo.
I've been surprised by the lack of interest also from this forum for your game also, things are hit and miss around here at times, but we all love TRON.
I found it pretty challenging but still did pretty well through the demo level. I read through all the comments on the blitz forum a while ago. I don't really have any thing to add , just the usual stuff.
Audio and the HUD design are fantastic.
1. I sort of liked the way the turret worked once I got a hang of it.
2. I think the tank moved too slow also.
3. The front of the tank body needs to be differiantied from the back. that would really help control. The scanner shows the tank body front with an arrow point. I think this would do the trick for the tank body model.
Other than that, best of luck and keep up the good work.

I didn't see this thread until now. That's actually pretty cool! Has some really good potential. I'm impressed I liked the static effects applied, too. I only played a portion of the first level, where I was supposed to kill the things on the ground that control the "planes" in the sky. It was a little slow-going getting to that point; not much going on before then; but it was still interesting. More action needed?
Man, I could totally envisioned a level where there were some lightcycles escaping the game grid, like in the movie, and there would be a fleet of us tanks trying to stop them. Me controlling one of those tanks. The tank would obviously need to go faster and have the ability to react faster, but it really made me long for playing such an intense scene. Going across game grids, through digital cliff-sides, etc. chasing light cycles coordinating to escape Maybe having some Recognizers zipping by. Would also make a good multi-player experience. Tanks vs. light cycles.
I'll give some quick constructive feedback here, if it helps the project any? Note: It goes without saying, but these are all "imo":
Turret:
* Too slow and laggy for my tastes.
* Doesn't angle up high enough. I'd feel like I had more freedom if I could tilt it back farther and launch some blasts into the sky more.
* I like the feeling of power and game grid size it gives to be able to launch a cannon blast so far! Very cool.
Gameplay:
* Slow going
* Hard to regain composure and attack back when you all the sudden start getting bombarded by a bunch of enemy fire.
Landscapes:
* I like them. The Tron'ness of them. The staticy/energy walls, etc. A little basic, but cool nonetheless.
Tank controls:
* They felt very intuitive to me (rotating bottom portion of tank with keyboard; and the turret with mouse). I liked them.
Some of these comments may just be me, and having only played it for a short time... but hope they help! I haven't really read any other reviews, so I'm sorry if this is just repeating everything you've already heard. I'll try more some other time, but I need to get going here...order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

madjack Wrote:As for being a Tron fan you're dead right. Saw it when it first came out - was very impressed with the virtual world's vastness, dynamism and symbolism (but not so impressed with the film's ending). Always wanted to make a 3d game that had that 'wide open' feeling to it, but had to wait for technology to catch up. |
TRON seems to have that affect on a lot of creative minds. Some people play with 3D imagery and animation, games with TRON-inspired visuals, hand-drawn TRON fan art, fan fiction, and some have made really cool TRON costumes... the list goes on actually - that's just for starters.
It looks like your starting to get some feedback on your game. Hopefully, more will chime in with their take on things.

Yes, I hope more people try it! It doesn't take very long to get it up and running. Driving a tank around (rather than a lightcycle) sure gives a different perspective on things. Makes you feel like you're a tank guy in the film
I'm glad my feedback was helpful. It was a fun gameplay experience. And I do need to load it up again soon to play it more though...

I don't think I answered your question regarding framerate. It runs great on my machine; no issues. I have AMD Athlon XP 2400+, 1.5GB RAM and GeForce 6800 GS.
At one point, the audio died on me for some reason so I had to re-load it. I'm not sure if it's my system or the game, though, considering the Prey demo did the same thing to me last night. Hmm.
A bit more feedback:
* When your shields get low, I don't like the alert that sounds like a phone ringing. Maybe hearing it once would be okay?, but to hear it over and over doesn't appeal to me. It still sounds kinda like a phone ringing
* It's a pretty hard game. Admittedly, though, I still have only gone partway through the tutorial. I made it thru the tutorial enough to get some practice fire on moving targets, but that's when the audio died. I tried going back to the main menu to see if the audio would kick back in, but it didn't. I then hit "esc" trying to resume the training (because I didn't see a "Resume Game" button), and it exited the game on me I didn't want to have to do all the training up to that point again at the time. But yeah, between having 6 tanks firing at me and transports and explosive balls bouncing all over it was very hard to avoid fire to stay alive more than a minute or two. Of course, I didn't keep much distance between me and the enemy because it's hard to hit them from afar.
* I think there should be some numbers that show up in your HUD when you're adjusting the target on an enemy unit. (Although, maybe you already have that come later on, with an upgrade or something?) Some text that is reminiscent of Tron; someting that would kind of correlate with when the tank guys say "Mark 14 , Range 36' (or whatever they say). Maybe even have a target 'lock on,' but I'm not sure about the latter; you'd have to weigh the pros and cons.
* I like being able to steady the turret with the right mouse button.
* I wasn't expecting to see a mini-cutscene. That was cool
It's still pretty cool, and I still hope others try it and give it a chance ~

Super thread revival galaxy.
This game is half off on Steam right now, so it's $5. I plan on picking it up, anyone else?
I tried the demo a while back and really liked it, so yeah.

I own this game now. The story and most of the seans are right from tron with exceptions. Theres a Sark guy in a ship, an overlord like the MCP, a MCP that chases you.... think of it as Tron from the point-of-view of a totally different program and everything is tank based.
I'm about half way through I think. Great game....

Yeah it's a great game, and tough after say.. level 3. I love seeing how accurately I can nail something that's far away, and only 10 pixels on my monitor, gives me a "super tank sniper" feeling.
I have it, but I haven't played in a while, it got pretty tough to beat some of those monsters!where to buy abortion pill abortion types buy abortion pill online |
