In fact, after Dec 31, 2007 it will no longer be used. JavaScript is a script language loosely based on Java, that all browsers support right off the bat. Java applets need you to install Java, yes. If JavaScript isn't working for you Vortex, then the option to run them must have been turned off in your browser. The option to turn it off, is a security measure. If you don't like the idea of scripts running that can do things willy-nilly, you can stop it. But then you won't be able to use some sites. If you're using Internet Explorer, go into the Control Panel and click on the Internet Options icon. Go to the Security tab and click the Custom Level button. You know how when you move the mouse over a link and the address that the link goes to appears in the lower left of the screen? (Yeah, I know it's confusing . . . leave it to computer experts to make things as confusing and complicated as possible.) What browser are you using? IE? Firefox? Do you have pop-up blocking enabled?
