It looks like the rally is going to be in February, my next days off will be the 27-29 of January, I'll be on the computer lots then but not quite ready for it and then I've narrowed it down to the 11-13 February since this is also my anniversary with the WolF Princess I must take this time off and should be ready to run the rally then. I hope you got a chance to test your ping, I know some people have it rough, let me know what results you get and I'll see if setting it higher for the rally is workable.

I wasn't able to get on to the GameGRiD.org Extreme server because I didn't have the custom map it was running.

I got on to the other one just fine... although I found myself stuck in a Super Light Cycle. Ewwwww! I'm not a fan of the SLC. I'm old school - give me a beautiful original light cycle any day, and I'll mow down any SLC I find out there!

I had an awful ping though - over 200. I don't imagine I'd be very competitive with that high of a ping. Anything over 150 is far too laggy to really do well against other players. IMO anyway. I'd give it a try anyway though - if I ever found some players on it. I MUCH prefer the LC over the SLC though, and I enjoy the Extreme speed far more than the slow feeling non-extreme speed.

About a week ago I was having trouble getting into the sector, so in case anyone didn't notice the posting on my user forum at www.gamegrid.org, it was declared that the rally will be held on the 26th of February with the finals maybe spilling over onto the 27th. The Princess made me change this because she didn't want me on the computer during our anniversary, in the battle between hormones and electrons, hormones always win. The Rally begins on Sunday at 8pm PST, mark the calendar, alarm the PDA, tell the spouse to remind you, whatever it takes. Prepare for LAG!!! It's all part of the game, ah ha ha ha *evil mechanical laugh*

All very good questions. There is no registration required, basically I'll be lighting up the servers after a brief prep and config then if you want to play join one of the two servers and follow the directions of myself, I will be a spectator and host on both servers. If you manage to carry through and win one of the prizes then and only then will I need shipping info.

There is going to be games with standard grids, a game or two with custom grids and the final rally with a new grid I am making now. A rally pack will be available before the Rally starts which is easily installed and removed after if you want. But it will be required to have since it will contain the new grid.

The Rally is ready to start and the files are ready to download. The rally pack I have put together includes two newer versions of RaceTrack and RedPlanet with an additional bonus grid called Mazer. You are required to have the latest version of TRoN 2.0 installed and you must download and install the rally pack. Unzip it into the custom/resources folder in your TRoN game home folder. One of the points of the rally is to see how well you can follow instructions.

Once you have the pack installed please join the Rally -1- server. If it is full then you must wait until a spot clears, then join the server and remain as a spectator until I (KLuWolF) instruct you otherwise. If you try to join a game in progress then you will be booted from the server. You can rejoin again and will be allowed to stay only if you follow these instructions.

DO NOT ATTEMPT to join the Rally -2- server unless you are instructed to do so by me. The exception to this is that you may join to chat with me temporarily as long as you remain a spectator.

If you are told that you are out, then you can replay under a different guise as long as the first round is still being played. Extreme Foul Language and spam chat will not be tolerated and you will be booted from the rally.

Thanks for the kind words, yes it was a lot of fun, even for me with all that was going on. I've updated the www.gamegrid.org website with the whole story and the results, a few screen shots, comments so I hope you get a chance to view it. Theres also some info on when the next one will take place and some of the changes we're planning so that more users can play.
