Now for something completely different:
It was a cold Monday morning, frosty breath fogged up the windows of the school bus. All of a sudden a beam of light shot up from the depths of the earth and illuminated the waking sky. (insert Digicons with mouth open in awe) The beam pierced a layer of clouds and continued on toward the heavens.
(On a more serious note) This was sooooo cool! This beam looked so much an I/O beam. It then went through a dome of clouds at the horizon which is just like world in TRON! No camera, though. Major bummer.

I have also seen a real life I/O tower or two. Well, nothing as dramatic as seeing light shooting up from the depths of the earth in a forceful burst of light into the infinite sky and beyond. But rather, each of my experiences was like a 'focused Jesus ray', if I remember correctly. (I only say 'Jesus ray' because that's how lots of people refer to them. You know, when the sun's light is cast through clouds and the rays fans out? Please don't get on my case for saying something w/ religious connotations.) It wasn't typical sun rays, though. My experience was unique (for me) in that it was just one vertical column of light stretching from earth to sky. I remember pausing for a few moments, letting my mind absorb the real life Tron experience. I mean, how often do we get to see I/O towers in the real world??
I'm getting out of here right now, and you guys are invited. -----^ |

Truely, a natural I/O tower, would be a rainbow.
I was walking around in a sun shower, which is a occurance we get here in FL. often, where the rain is falling without clouds, and the area as far as I could see lit up about two or three times brighter than usual, only all I could see was gold, and the colors of the rainbow in the rain. I thought there truely was a pot of gold there.
I have never seen a ray of light come out of the ground, (except from the theme parks) but we get wierd stuff, like a blue flash, that was seen by thousands of people, and a friend of mine had a shattered window, with a hole in it, and nothing was inside his house. (meteorite possibly like the one in Australia two days ago)

Ok, dispensing with the metaphors, basically it was a beam of light that started at the horizon and went through a layer of clouds higher up. The light must have been narrowed into a beam by going through a cloud that was below the horizon that I couldn't see.

I didn't know if you were serious at first, but I sense you are.. lol. This glass door was tempered, 15x60in. and tinted. The hole was approximately 2ft. above the floor, infront of the door was a solid dresser, no traces of a projectile, just the shattered window. my friends saw the flash over the airport for about 30 seconds. they said it lit up the sky like the meteorite did in australia, but noone saw a meteor.where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online |

Since we are sort of talking about strange stuff, then I got something that my friends and I saw and can't find much information about.
Late one night several years ago, me and a group of friends got together out in the woods, to drink beer around a campfire. It's sort of been a tradition of ours since high-school.
Anyways... where we were at overlooks an open field and we saw a small bluefish-white ball of light slowly moving across it near the ground. It was a clear night and rather dry. After a few mins it hit something (a tree? or a fence?) and made a really loud noise and disappeared.
We told my neighbor about it the next day and he said that it's what they call a 'lighting orb'. Apparently there is this rare phenomenon with electricity that cause it to behave this way.
Do any of you guys know anything about it?
Strange.

Yeah . . . ball lightning. I've heard of it before. It's very rare, but it does happen sometimes. Never seen it with my own eyes, though.
I don't know what the process is that causes it. I'd have to go look it up with Google, like everyone else.
The weirdest thing I've actually seen before (which doesn't really compare) and is apparently somewhat common: is backward or upward lightning. Where the bolt starts from the Earth and goes to the clouds, instead of the usual way. I've also seen sideways lightning, where the bolt travels within or between clouds.
I found this site that has pictures of upward and sideways lightning, lest you think I'm making this up . . .

I've seen pictures before of upward lighting before. Really amazing photos.
Around here, we call sideways lighting, 'Cloud Feeding'. It's really a cool site to behold. I love to watch major thunderstorms roll in and out of town... and at night its the coolest.order abortion pill morning after pill price where to buy abortion pill |

If I remember correctly, when lightning is traveling, it is capable of pulling silicone out of thin air, and the orb is filled with plasma. Very interesting thing to see, I dont recall seeing one on the net.. but I've certainly heard of them.
A guy I used to work with was playing softball, and lightning struck the field, with no warning signs. They gathered around a hole in the ground, about 3 inches wide, and dropped something into it, then it disappeared. so they got pipes, and stuck them in the hole, 17 feet +/-.
