My new Tron image: "Firewall"

on Monday, December, 05, 2005 11:04 AM
I just wanted to share the next of my Tron images with the Sector.

I used the environment that Clue had been poking around in as the setting for "what would a Firewall look like in the world of Tron."

Check it out here.
Comments are welcome.

Todd -

Would you be so kind as to add this to my collection in the Fan Art Gallery? Thanks.

That's pretty cool, except I am not so crazy about the low, front angle. It would have been neat to see more of the firewall streams and the tanks themselves. Maybe a more side view or top down angle would have given a better sense of subject.

Thanks, Boingo_Buzzard.

The tanks themselves are the Firewall, the streaming data overhead is an updated version of the data stream that Clue merged with. The idea was that the tanks patrol various data streams to locate and eliminate intruders. In the film the Recognizers fulfilled this role, however, I thought it would be more interesting to incorporate an aspect of combat to the concept... Especially with a term like "Firewall."

I love that image. I want that blown up poster sized and framed on my wall. I like the low angle. Very WWII German Panzer on the prowl kind of vibe to it.

As for what a firewall might look like in the TRON world, take a look at that level in TRON 2.0 to see how they envisioned it. PICTURE

Thanks, Dave! Would you settle for a Wallpaper for now? Rendering it at a resolution and size for poster output will take quite a while.

...hmmm... For some reason I'm drawing a complete blank on that level of the game. I don't remember seeing it... or even playing it.

And thanks for the feedback thus far, guys.

To critique, the frame/border surrounding the image looks so much like the inspirational photos being sold at malls, I'd really consider changing said border. But it could be taken as a compliment by those who make the images. In any case, your presentation looks great, but looks copied too much from the inspir. pics sold.order abortion pill morning after pill price where to buy abortion pill

Wallpaper will do nicely. I've really got no place for a poster anyway.

As for the inspirational poster thing, I got that vibe too, but frankly I look at it as you've improved on that genre!

Wow, more great work from you ettercap. Me likes!

And when I first saw the previews of the Firewall level in the game, it blew my mind. I mean, it's absolutely HUGE. It's an extremely effective representation of what a Firewall would look like in the Tron world. The Monolith people did a fantastic job.

Sorry for the late reply!

That's a great image, ettercap! I love the approach to the concept and image composition. Great angle too - it makes the tanks look very menacing.

I've added it to your fan art page. I also used the text write up from the site you have the image hosted - I hope that is ok.

Keep up the good work!
