Well, everyone knows that Star Wars and musicals just don't mix. But when you force the two together, it is quite humorous! Don't you agree? I mean, that's the joke... oh never mind.

Now TRON on ice... I'm guessing it was not done as a joke, so I can only imagine what it will look like. Star Wars - The Musical is intended as a joke... but what happens when TRON hits the ice, and it's totally serious?

That is actually what I'm expecting. I'm thinking it will be so bad or so wrong, that it might actually be enjoyable. You know, like the Star Wars Christmas Special of 1978... or was it '79? Anyway, I saw that as a kid, and it was so disappointing, yet I was glued just because it had Star Wars characters in it and at the time - that was enough. Seeing it 20 years later with friends - it was so bad, that we all kind of enjoyed the bad experience together. There was much laughing!

Hmmm... TRON and Rollerball... that has some cool visuals running through my head. Why not a new TRON video game, that is basically Rollerball, but played in the TRON universe? No skates, but the programs have modified looking footwear, and they kind of hover just above the glowing track and move at high speeds as they try and derez the opposing teammates while playing the game. There has to be some fan or two of these ice shows out there that has footage of the TRON show. It's a scary world to investigate for me but maybe someone here has the motivation to do it. I'd love to see it.

TRON On Ice

Hehhe, that was pretty cool, except the shirtless TRON disturbed me a little. Too "Lord Of The Dance"-ish

Now that I've seen the video . . . hmm.

I really don't know what to say. Elements of it looked cool. The costumes were pretty cool. So was the backlighting, to achieve a glow effect.

Though I agree with Boingo about the shirtless TRON. It looked weird. I guess that was done so the skater had greater mobility.

And those designs of the game grid in the background, looked like they were made using Lite-Brites.

It's hard to judge just from this little snippet. And we didn't get to hear any of the actual music or sound effects used during the performance. Overall though, it didn't look as bad as I thought it was going to be. It was semi-cool.
