Hey - that's very cool, Capt_Capacitor! 
What's the theme of it?
I have a very boring and lame desktop. It's just dark blue, with regular, boring icons on it... that little by little keep eating up more of my desktop. Just like in the real world, my PC desktop tends to get cluttered up with stuff quickly!
On one of my work PCs, I have a retro-80's looking image of me and my wife made out of ASCII art.
That desktop is pretty cluttered up as well. At a resolution of 1280x960 for that PC, my face (which is on the left) is pretty much completely covered up with tiled icons.
Jeez, at home and at work, I need to do some serious icon cleaning up!

Clean and simple, just the way I like it.
If I want a program to be within easy reach, I create a toolbar. Hence, the Games toolbar on my taskbar. This keeps my desktop uncluttered.

i have 3 desktops, because on my computer i have this nvidia thing that basically adds another desktop, and i can switch them by pressing a button on my mouse.
this is the main one on my computer [not this computer]
that is a screenshot i made of the siren epic miracle from black and white 2.
this is the other desktop i have on my main machine:
for those that don't already know, that's the final boss monster in doom 3
and finally on this computer, i have this neat little half life 2 number:
i like this one because it captures the sense of melancholy and dread that the people of city 17 feel.

Here's my desktop. Simple picture (and a pretty one ) but huge amount of icons, seems like time to clean the desktop... on my old computer I had a beautiful starry sky picture with custom made icons for everything. When the icons were properly placed you couldn't tell where they were, if there wasn't any name for the icon. Maybe I'll post that desktop here too.
