I was floored by this news. I loved Get Smart and Inspector Gadget is a favorite cartoon. I'm really sad to see him go. Maybe some movie exec will get off his ass now and put the original series, "The Nude Bomb" and "Get Smart Again" out on DVD! OK, maybe the remake series in '95 too, but as an "extra", it wasn't so good.

Bummer news. I still to this day say "I TOLD you not to tell me that..." and "Missed it by... THAT much!"...........and also talk into my shoe (although the last one gets some odd looks).

I was a big fan of Get Smart back in the day. I caught the reruns of it in the 70's, and then here and there throughout the 80's. Loved the show. Hermie the robot was fun too! That was his name, right? Some large robot guy named Hermie? And the guy who was always in the trash can! Of course, my favorite (and many people's) was the shoe phone - how cool was that? Cool and silly. I can clearly hear in my head the classic line of "Missed it by that much."
Anyway, it's sad Don Adams has passed. He was a mighty talent and left his mark on us all, most notably with his character of Maxwell Smart. Of course, I enjoyed Inspector Gadget as well. There was no mistaking his voice! It fit the character perfectly too.
Dare I say... let us observe a moment in the cone of silence in honor of this talented entertainer.

It is a shame to see him go. He was such a classic comic and will be very missed.
