Nah. My parents have an old Mac. I'm also running two Nextstation that Apple had bought out when Steve Jobs I think was running Next there. So I am familiar with MAC over here. Just rather be using my ubuntu linux, openstep, and windows.

First you call us all racists because we don't like Macs as much as you and now we all suck?
Either you have an odd sense of humor or some really thin skin there.

Dude, you're having a sense of humour failure. just lighten up. we all have the right of free speech, and are all entitled to our opinions, so you shouldn't go grilling other people because they don't agree with you. then it's a dictatorship.
do we want a dictatorship? no we don't
look, there are some of us who have tried using a mac and found it frustrating, there are some who love macs, and there are some who have been growing up in the warm fuzzy glow of windows and subsequently don't know any different

What is it about the insecure 2% of Mac users who obsess over mainstream affirmation?

In the days when I used to take customer phone calls for software at Disney, I can honestly say that Mac users on average were the rudest people.
They would insult, complain incessantly, and belittle PC users at the drop of a hat.
If you actually told them that the reason we didn't make software for their PCs was that there was only a 4% market share vs. PC, they would literally explode.
I have been called many amazing things by Mac users. Think different indeed.
I have personally worked on both in my 15 years in QA, and I just don't get Macs. They don't do half of what my PC can. Admittedly, they are simple for those who don't want to think about configuring a PC, but they are seriously less functional in my opinion. TRy testing a high end game ona Mac, some of the nastiest bugs we ever wrote were Mac based.
I love that Mac fans love 'em, but I hate 'em!

Based on what DaveTRON said, it may be that they're just on the defensive because they have the minority of marketshare. I just did a quick Google search, looking for a Mac-to-PC comparison, but found a forum where someone defends Macs. He is even so defensive he wanted to make it quite clear that it's "Mac" *not* "MAC". How crazy is that?
First off, it's Mac, not MAC. MAC is an acronym for Media Access Control. Mac is an abbreviation for Macintosh, a series of computers made by Apple Computer for the past twenty-one years. |
The rest of his post wasn't as defensive, but I couldn't help but think the above quote was a little unnecessary or belittling.
I personally need to do more research. Since I like graphic design and multimedia, I think that's the only reason I may need a Mac (or dare I say, MAC?) (Traahn whips out the devil horns.) j/k.
I've heard (from a Mac Sales Rep) the Mac's architecture makes it process this multimedia stuff more quickly than a PC. Not to mention I saw a 35" widescreen Mac monitor that dropped my jaw when I saw it in action. I thought it was a poster at first, but then when I saw programs being pulled up on it and realized it was a monitor (albeit for $3000) I totally wanted one. The amount of workspace on that thing to do graphics, or music programs, or video editing was amazing!
If you've never seen a Mac in motion (which I hadn't for many years), you might find these interesting. I did when I first saw them a few months back. Go to this URL: http://www.apple.com/macosx/. Then click one of the icons in upper-right (like 'Dashboard'). Then click the video link in upper-right to see a video on that item. It was neat to watch the interactivity and smooth graphics of the system.
But, I won't ever own one until I can better afford one to just use for multimedia stuff. The PCs just have so many more programs and games available that buying a Mac just isn't a good option for me right now. My PC more than suit my needs right now; I don't have many complaints. And those complaints could probably be solved by simply adding more RAM and a better video card.on line abortion pill misoprostol dose abortion medical abortion pill onlineabortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

DJ,
If you are going to get angry and pack up and leave because someone doesn't like something you like, then you are in for a life full of bad surprises.
I personally don't like Macs. I am entitled to that opinion.
That you love them is great. Glad for you. Use them with pride, but don't expect me to.
Nobody has said that you are wrong for liking Macs, we have simply expressed our personal preferences.
None of this is aimed at you personally, it's just people exchanging their opinions. Don't take it so personally.
We all like you a lot, even if you do like Macs. I'm teasing you by the way, that's meant as a joke! DaveTRON

Myself. Even though I may have a couple of older macs here. myself. ANd don't really used them on a day to day basis like I do with my windows Environments or my Penguin os over here. I also delve into others that are not really a maiin stream that we would all use here. ANd I am toleratable to using just about any OS's that is available. So for me if its this OS, That OS or another OS that are not the regular ones that you can get easy access or use over the main stream. I'm always flexible to it and never try to say one is better than the other. Just giving my opinion here on it so mac and IBMs people like myself and others here don't get our knickers in a twist here. The onlything I find irritating for me as a techie here and a junor programmer. Is that some users are just obsesed with ione thing and its just this or thatand nothing ele.
One mac user was giving my like the holy bible abot not being a Mac. When I gave him the turn around on it. Told him about other OS that were not availablefor the mac. ANd was only available to the PC, Nextsation, And the sun workstations. And the guy was stunned to the max when Iwas done with him. And asked him afterwards what he thought. Just just said oh and walked away from me. Everytime I had seen him he would like make a bline to the nearest exit and hide from me.

Aww.... come on! You're going to have to handle a wee bit of razzing about you compy of choice (Or nit-picking or whateves....) Some people love PCs, some people love XP (Anyone notice that XP looks the symbol for the digitcon . Is anyone else as amused by it as I am? ) and some people love their Macs (Some also prefer some cheese to go with their Macs too. ) Not everyone is going to like a Mac in their lap or on their desk. I being one of those people. It's pretty much what you get used to. I mean there are nice things about Macs (Like the fact that the models that I'm using just so happen to be bullet proof..... literately!) But I have a huge preferance to the PC because it's what I grew up with and what we used in the Public/French Immersion school system over here. Had I gone over to the Catholic side (That's pretty much what we call it over here. This isn't me being religious over here, it's just me talking about the schooling system here in Ontario), I would have grown up with Macs. But I was in French Immersion (Due to the fact that I could (And did) learn to be bilingual) and ended up on the PC and I'm used to that. So of course I would find Macs weird and I wouldn't like them all that much! It's what I got used to and confortable with. So not everyone's going to like a Mac. It's personal preferance really. ^^;;
