Going to be off the site for a few days so don't think I died if I don't post for a few. This Thrusday I'm going to be in Atlanta Georgia at an Art Expo. I'm one of the artist's being sponsered by the gallery I work for. This is my first baby step in getting my name out. I'm excited about the possibilites, and both nervous at the same time. Hope some people notice me.
As I sit here listening to the Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack to clam my now fired nerves my printer is working ovetime, trying to get a mini portfolio together of some artwork. I just had my time wasted by the wonderful two person night crew at Kinko's. Looks like I'm going to meet the manager next time and go piranha on these two. I would have tonight, but my time had already been wasted enough. Kinko's did great with past assignments, check out how nice that Maximilian image came out for Max's base, but these two there tonight don't have their ink together at all.
Today has truely sucked. CHEERS!

Cool - I'm not the only one with poor typing abilities tonight. Anyways, good luck with the Art Expo thing! I'm sure it will be fun!
PS: Every time I go to Kinko's for something that I think will only take 5 minutes ends up being an hour or two! EVERY TIME. I don't get it...
I'm getting out of here right now, and you guys are invited. -----^ |

Best of luck with the art gallery exhibit!!!
I'm sure you'll knock 'em dead!
And if not - try shooting them. That usually works!

Excellent choice
I'd say good luck... but luck is for those who need it. You're a brilliant artist with tons of talent and you'll do fine
Don't forget to have some fun too!

Whew... what an experience. The expo was great! Lots of art of all forms and color adorned each booth. Spoke with many people there. People from China, California, Spain, England, and other places where at this event. I was only able to go to the reception Thursday night and part of the public opening on Friday due to time, but it was fun. I did find it a little difficult trying to explain the type of art work I do for this is the first time I've ever been to an event like this. Felt like such a know nothing newbie. There was tons of free finger foods at the reception to chow on. I had some of my gallery artwork there and a mini portfolio to show the type of art I create. Some of my digital Tron art was in it. I have one young guy from California who's very very interested in buying a large version of this robot image. Going to see what I can do. He's into comic and animation styled artwork. My "David Beheading Goliath" study for my Figure Drwing class got alot of attention as well. I hope to learn more about the reaction my artwork had after I left the expo when I talk to my boss again. Man, I feel revitalized after seeing all the various artworks there. It was some much needed inspiration for me.
I wore my Yellow Lightcycle Friday, then my Recognizer pin. One of the exhibitors, who displayed lifelike mannequins made by a third generation make-up artist from Hollywood, immediately recognized the light cycle and loved it.
Well, I'm off to get some rest. My eyelids are getting heavy right now. Got to get up tommorrow and finish two assignments that need catching up on due to the expo. Oy... this one Word and Image project is killing my time. Will post more about the event when there's time.
I had a blast!

Sounds like you had yourself a great experience and a great time!
Funny you should mention that you have trouble explaining "the type of artwork" you do. Was it more that you had trouble explaining it, or that people didn't quite know how to take it? Just curious.
Welcome back to The Sector too.

More about how to explain it. Part of the reason is because of the of the various mediums I've done so far. Also I've always had some difficulty talking about myself, and this is the first time I've ever been to an event like this where you actually meet other artists and exhibitors and actually talk about the art you do. I guess I'll get better at it with time.
I see there is still an anti-computer attitude out there, which is understandable. Here I am an artist who does digital art along with traditional in this event and running into this attitude gives you that "your corroding the traditional arts with your digital arts" feeling inside. I'm sure Lisberger knows that feeling. One artist gave me a little mini speech about computers in art today being nothing more than a premade tool... funny... cause aren't store bought paints, wood boards, drawing penciles, and ink pens premade tools as well? I see all these things as tools, for it's all in how you use the tool that art is created. I see both mediums as art. While both are different, both are also alike.
On the upside, HP technologies what there showcasing their new way of making prints via a their new digital camera technologies. The results where amazing!

Interesting. I didn't know there was an anti-computer attitude w/ respect to art. For certain things, it's actually many times more difficult to create digital artwork; so if they're arguing it's a 'cop out' to use computers, they're very wrong. They may just be ignorant to the medium, easily tossing it aside as uncreative or not real artwork. I've done both traditional and digital and I can say that they share many common traits when it comes to the actual process of creating the art; depending on how you do it.order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill
