Bulb question

on Wednesday, September, 07, 2005 12:20 AM
Do LED bulbs use less energy than a regualr mini bulb almost it's size like say a thin christmas light bulb?

Also does the color of an LED change the length of power consumption?

Yes there is not much power going through it. Since it is a Light emitting Diode. The power consumption is a lot less in it than a regular condensant light bulb that you have at home. It's te same with the florescent lights.

VROOOOOOOOOMMMM!!!

To compute or not to compute that is the question at hand. Tis nobler to compile in C++ or in TASM.

LED's use something like 80% to 97% less power than traditional incandescent bulbs do.

I believe I have read somewhere that each color requires a specific amount of power to operate at maximum efficiency.abortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion

Yes, alot less.

I'm not sure I understand the question. If by "length" you mean how long they last... an LED should last almost forever regardless of its color. If by "length" you mean amout... yes a blue LED of the same brightness as a red LED would consume more power.

Hmmm... this topic makes me wonder why LEDs aren't being used as the standard christmas tree lights yet. Not only do they use less power but they run at a lower voltage and give off much less heat making them much less likely to catch your christmas tree on fire.

Would they cost more that $1.50 per strand of 100?

Because they want to keep you buying Christmas lights. If they used LEDs, one set (taken care of properly) would last you basically forever!

Probably, but I'd pay more then $1.50 per stand for LEDs. As redrain85 points out they'd last nearly forever. So not only would they save you a bit on your electric bill and be much safer then incandescent bulbs, but they put an end to that hunt for the burt out light bulb that keeps the whole stand from lighting up. The main cost would probably come from a transformer needed to step down the voltage.

Come to think of it don't some of the light up Hallmark ornaments have LEDs in them? If so they plug strait into the incandescent strands and I don't think they even have transformers in them.

Yeah Carl I just ment how long one would last connected to say a regular AA battery compared to a Christmas light bulb. I'm just checking my materials options for a project I slowly started on Labor Day.where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

In that case, I'd say yes the color can have an effect. A blue one would use up the battery faster then a red one of the same brightness. But to be honest I don't have a good feel for how big of an effect it would have. I think it would be quite small. Sounds like a great topic for a school science project. I'll have to keep that in mind for my boys next time they are looking for ideas.

Checked at my local Radio Shack. They have LED bulbs and a good selection of them. About a buck a bulb. The clerk said the Blues use up batteries pretty quickly compared to the other colors. This project has thrown me a curve ball design wise which could complicate things.

Red LEDs, blue LEDs, batteries... My User thinks the local art program's got himself a sculpture project! related mayhap..

Course he could be wrong. He's been wrong before... had me make a left turn at an Albuquerque router, ended up in some Venezuelan's PDA...

It's not Tron related but something of my own creation. Might take me a little while to work on this due to classes and other things. I just hope this doesn't turn into an unfinished project. I really want to see this get finished.where to buy abortion pill abortion types buy abortion pill online
