This day isn't turning out like I'd planned.
I was informed that I am being transferred to a dept. and job that I don't want to do.
They're claiming that it's because I can "handle" the job and this is an "opportunity", but ignore my protests that it's to a job and dept I have no interest in working for and doing.
I have worked for this company for nine years now, and I think this is the final stretch.
Not the best way to start the day.

Sorry to hear that Boingo! I hope it goes better for you soon. Remember, for every negative thing that happens, a good thing is bound to be right behind it. Look for the silver lining. Good luck.

Wow... I always hate to see news like this. On the bright side atleast they didn't walk you to the door with no notice as TI did with me. Looking back at it now and hearing what is going on there now its one of the best things that could have happened to me. However it sure didn't feel like that at the time.

yeah, i agree. you never know, you might have a huge pay rise, less work hours or if you're really lucky, both.

Same for me. Losing the BVG job felt like the end of my career, then I learned that there is far better life after BVG here at THQ Wireless.

Whoa - sorry to hear about the unwanted job shift, Boingo_Buzzard.
I'd say just take it one day at a time and watch for an opportunity to present itself. There may be a silver lining in this.  Just trying to think positive about it.

Thanks, all, for the words of encouragement, and you're right. There is far worse things than this that could happen to me, and it might work out after all. I posted right after the news and was pretty down in the dumps. I guess we'll see.
On the bright side, I did pick up Death Jr. today for the PSP. However the Wendy Carlos score CD still eludes me. No one seems to have it in their store this time around.

Don't feel so bad. My day on wednesday didn't turn out great as well. I was switch over from working in the office helpinmg out the marketing department. Back into the warehouse and helping out the other people in making the displays for the lu, Bakshen amd preperagefram displays for the cookies over ehre. I have been spending the last couple of days there doing that. Until december. One of the ladies in the marketing is trying to get me back up in the marketing department the last couple of days so I can help out in finishing off the surveys that I ahve started already for them and some other projects that they have for me.
I might have to work some extra hours in order to do so for them Sinc ethey have no one else to put in my place there. and the extra hours would help out in getting the thing that I need to get paid off faster and still have some money left over for christmas presents too. But thats part of life that we all have to deal woth some time or another.
