Look in the DirectX folder on disc 1. I forget which version came with the game exactly, but it will certainly be ther version it runs on.

He can also install it from windowsupdate.com. And let it install from there. The latest version from MS is Version 9Xc. But you have to have internet access to it. Got too www.windowsupdate.com it will help you out to update everything related to your version of windows that you are running.
