Thank you! And thank you DaveTRON as well - I read your comment in another thread... but forgot where I saw it now (couldn't respond at the time).

The main video itself is actually completed - all glorious 2 and a half minutes of it! No - it won't be the entire song, but I bet people enjoy what is there.

I just need to get the end credits in order and properly added to it... which believe it or not is not as simple as it might seem. Can't wait to show the world the whole completed video though! It's short, but cool... and has some obvious TRON inspiration in there too It's like Wang Chung - meets Todd's strange, yet TRON influenced visualizations! I guess that would also be Syd Mead inspired as well!

Yes. Keep that up TheReelTodd and you'll be doing music videos for MTV some day, I'm sure! It already looks like a Peter Gabriel video. Very creative!

Thanks, man!

Funny thing - you're the second person to mention it looks like a Peter Gabriel video. Several months back, User_Program commented very similar (actually thinking it was a Peter Gabriel song) after viewing a very low-res version of that clip (as seen in my profile).

Peter Gabriel's Sledgehammer video, from 1986, is my absolute favorite all time music video - even to this day! I LOVED the style of it and the awesome and strange stop motion animation in it - including the stop motion of Peter Gabriel himself! I thought it was pure artistic genius.

I never set out to do anything in that style with my project. It started out as a simple experiment to recreate the jitter-like effect in Wang Chung's video for the song. What started out as a simple video test and gag video to crack up some guys at work, turned in to a major undertaking (for me) and grew well beyond it's original purpose.

I bet on a subconscious level, I was more than likely inspired by some of my favorite visuals - including Peter Gabriel's Sledgehammer video. After User_Program's initial comment to me, I immediately saw the resemblance between what I was doing and the look of the Sledgehammer video. Funny how we're inspired by the things we've admired on different levels of thought and creativity!

I have to agree about the Peter Gabriel "Sledgehammer" similarity!

I've seen Wang Chung's video too, but your preview clip definitely reminds me more of Sledgehammer.

I can't imagine how much work Peter must have put into making Sledgehammer, and the similar videos that followed. He established a whole new style of video-making that was head and shoulders above the rest at the time. If I remember correctly, Godley and Creme worked closely with him and many other music artists who had "groundbreaking" work like this.

I can't wait to see the finished product, TheReelTodd.

Thanks, redrain85

Really, only the lyrical portion of my project (approx. only one minute in length for that part) will resemble the style of Sledgehammer. Only some of my animation is stop motion though. There's a bizarre intro-sequence that's... well, different. I don't know what you'd call it, other than odd, humorous, and hopefully fun and entertaining! I am very excited about releasing it and finally being able to show it to the world. I've walked away from this labor-intensive project many times over the months, but it's almost ready for prime time.

In terms of Peter Gabriel's Sledgehammer video, I remember hearing the director of that video commenting in an interview that the entire animation of that video took one week to complete. I was amazed by that - only a SINGLE week? Of course, Peter Gabriel was stuck in a chair for long hours each day while the animator(s) animated the things around him, one frame at a time. And there he sat, very still through it all, trying to make the proper face in each frame so it would appear as if he was singing. That was an amazing effect!

Peter Gabriel is one of my favorite artists of all time. Everything he's done has been A+

Have you guys heard the score to The Last Temptation Of Christ and the Rabbit Proof Fence?

Yep, I saw your work being similar to the Sledgehammer video; thus my comment! That was my favorite video for a long time. I don't think it still is, but it ranks up there. A-Ha's 'Take On Me' video is a bit higher on that scale of my 'favorite music videos.' I love that video!where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

Yes, Take On Me was another very cool music video. Actually, I always liked that video a whole lot more than the song itself!

I loved the hand-drawn animation effect in the video. I've actually thought about using a similar effect in some of my work before... just didn't know what to do with it. I hate to say it, but the hand-drawn look can be easily replicated these days with some simple graphic application trickery. Of course, the compositing part of it would be pretty labor intensive. In every frame the subject/person would need to be manually isolated from the background. That's very time consuming... I know all too well! Wait a minute... they only did that toward the end of the video, right - the blending of hand-drawn animation with live action. Jeez, it's been a while since I’ve seen it. Very cool video though.

Jeez, this thread is morphing in to a cool visuals in cool music videos of the 80's thread!

Did you see The Family Guy last week? They did a spoof on that video where Chris was sucked into it. Pretty funny.

Also, yes Todd.. except that the score to LTOC is not your typical Peter Gabriel music. It's a lot of middle eastern drums and rhythms. So if you like that kind of stuff I suggest getting it. But if you're expecting Peter Gabriel type songs it's not like that at all.

Actually, there was a second version of Take On Me by a british boy band called A1 that I was referring to. They redid the song and the video had a TRON theme with lightcycles and other things.order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pillwhere to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill onlineabortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

Great looking font Traahn. Can't wait to see the rest of it.

DaveTRON did you ever find the Syd Mead letters you were looking for a while ago? It'd be interesting to compare the two.

Cool. I don't think I've seen that one. Is it on-line in any form? I'd like to check it out.

Carl,

I can't say it any other way. No. Whatever it was I saw and remember it isn't in the items in my posession today. Please cease asking.

As for the A1 vid, I will try to post a copy here later today.order abortion pill morning after pill price where to buy abortion pill

I didn't care much for how the A1 video turned out, but at least it was a nice tribute to both Tron and A-Ha at the same time.

Hrm... I guess I didn't groove all that much on that video. Seems kinda trite to me.

Just my opinion though.

The music sucks for sure, but the TRONish elements are pretty good in certain places.where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online
