Anyone like akira --> who doesn't like akira anyhow
Well Steamboy is said to be an anoutstanding followup to akira by the anime hero, Katsuhiro Otomo. I have not seen it yet, but its been on top of my must see list for months.
Has it come out already in the US? And if so can anyone vouch for the hype? I think it looks great cos its all about london -- an anime about britons, how very cool!

it pissed me off no end when i found out that was scheduled for a "limited" release
when i found out about it, i was really excited [on a similar level to the day doom 3 dropped through my letterbox] i alerted all my friends who also liked Anime [and appleseed] and i was waiting anxiously....
i was heartbroken when i realised wt was only being released in certain states in America. it wouldn't even touch english soil!

Not if you put it in RM.
Yes and no. Yes in the means that it wasn't used for either Parody purpouses, Educational purposes, or for the purpose of a Satire. If it was used for either a parody, educational, or a satire, then that wouldn't apply to you. Now if we can find a way to make Steamboy "educational."

Big STERIOTYPE! Avis are known for their high quality. But they are a little big. Even RM also has reasonably high quality for such a small video file. ( 1/2 hour = (On average) 45Megs. Sometimes, it's even smaller than that.) There's a particularly a huge much unneeded steriotype against RMs. There's decent stuff in that format and I've almost NEVER ran in to a bad one before. So please, abandon your steriotypes....

ok, now my story.
i have tried using RMs, and they were poor quality [aparrently it was a daft punk video, but it was more like a kaleidoscope]
i'll grant the fact that avi's are big .i have a movie stored on my computer, a little over an hour long that weighs in at 670 Mb. it took nearly a day to download [because the internet connection was playing up] and i am not giving it up easily
and finally i don't have any idea how any anime can be educational [despite the fact that i hale learned a lot about philosophy from ghost in the shell, but i'm not counting that]
i'll stick to the normal "buy the dvd" method, unless i get to a point when i really can't get my hands on it, then i'll look to these websites,
and i don't care what media format it is in.
