Well, I have returned, and I have three words to describe it:
BEST.WEEKEND.EVER.
Legit.
I'll have many stories for you (too many to type right now) and I'll tell you all this:
1.) I have many, many pictures.
2.) I played a 70% finished version of Jaws Unleashed on two X-Box beta testing units (which had the game directly on their hard drive and look similar to a Halo X-Box) and it's virtually Grand Theft Jaws. Too much fun.
3.) I became friends with KNB EFX artist Greg Nicotero (who did all the Crazy 88 stuff for Kill Bill, Marv's makeup for Sin City, all the Land of the Dead stuff, Deadwood, 24, Evil Dead 2 and many, many cool films including this summer's The Island and is getting ready for the remake of The Poseidon Adventure).
4.) I saw footage of his from Land of the Dead that none of you will ever see (unless Romero gets to use it on the DVD).
5.) I saw his KNB studios demo reels and his own Land of the Dead trailer, along with his DVD of classic horror movie trailers.
6.) This is the coolest - I have a sculpted tooth made from the original molds of Bruce the Shark sent directly from KNB Studios and handed directly to me by Greg Nicotero, which he also signed for me at...
7.) THE CABIN!!! I was invited to two crazy parties at the original cabin where Spielberg, Carl Gottleib, Joe Alves, Verna Fields and many other folks stayed and I got to sit at the desk where Carl Gottleib wrote the script.
It was a long-ass drive with a total of 12 hours of sleep for the course of 4 days, but it totally, completely owned!
I'll work on a full write-up with pictures and everything this week!

Wow! Sounds like fun!
Jaws is an old favorite of mine. It's part of the Golden Three from Spielberg that comprise some of my all time favortie movies... the other two being Close Encounters and Raiders.
Jaws is awesome and I will probably buy the 30th anniversary DVD. Is it worth it?

I totally forgot to add that I was able to drive Aint It Cool News's own Quint around the island - and he is truly a great guy, a total gentleman. He was very informative and even showed me some cool stuff (that unfortunately I can't tell you about)!
With regards to picking up the 30th anniversary DVD - Totally!
They put the entire 2-hour original laserdisc documentary on it, plus an 8-minute piece the BBC did during the actual shoot of the film.
Not only that, but they're putting on the original 2.0 Dolby Stereo soundtrack - which is truly the best.
The trip owned, and the message Spielberg taped just for us was really nice - it's a shame it won't be on the DVD.
I can't wait for you all to see the pictures!
And yes, Boingo, those three films are awesome pieces of work.
