Burger King Mascot

on Wednesday, June, 01, 2005 12:23 AM
Does anyone else here find the new Burger King commercials... well... creepy? It's great they're trying to bring back their old mascot, but why with cold, plastic, emotionaless stalker like behavior? Their "Wake up with the King" commercial really made a scarey impression on me.

Thing is now Quaker Oats has done their mascot the same way... I hope this doesn't a plastic stalker food mascot trend. Oh my user... can you imagine an evil plastic Twinkie the Kid stalking you with a Hostess cake?

Your soul for a burger?

I know exactly what you mean with the Burger King commercials. The first time I saw one I was like "Oh my User! What the HELL is that?!" It was quite creepy!

But I never saw the Quaker Oats commercials.

BTW, those images are broken! I wanted to see that creepy Quaker guy! ^^;;

I could not see the pics at work, but I see them fine at home. It may depend on the ISP or type of firewall people are behind.

As for the content... well, I'm glad they're bringing back his majesty, the Burger King... but he looked a lot less creepy back in the 70's!

BTW - I clearly remember the Burger King of the 70's. I remember thinking how cool he looked and all . Yeah - I'm an old fart!

The plastic, slightly stalking, bigheaded Burger King is a little creepy... but I'm not bothered by it. I have to admit I like things that are a little... off for lack of a better way of putting it.

I was enjoying the Hootie Burger King commercials while they were on. They were the epitome of cheesiness and I thought they were ingenious! LOVED those spots!

Anyone who claims to be the Burger King is slightly off kilter anyway. If I were to claim kingship over something I would make it the Porterhouse Steak King or even the Sushi King...

And yes, he does creep me out. STOP SMILING!order abortion pill morning after pill price where to buy abortion pillwhere to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill onlineabortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

It is creepy, but in a fun way I really liked. I'm tired of knowing what to expect from commercials. Isn't it neat to get something off base?

Hrmm.. good point, but not always. Sometimes "wierdness" is confused with "creativeness".

Wierdness does attract attention though, which is the point of advertising. Look at all the free advertising we're giving to Burger King in this thread alone.

Do I consider their commercials creative? No, not really.

Yeah, the new Burger King is slightly bizzare, although I did like the commercial where he meets Darth Vader and they just stand there making breathing noises at each other.

Old fart?! Noooooo... I remember the old characters, too. let's see, they had the Burger King, the Duke of Doubt, Sir Shake-a-Lot, the Burger Thing and the Wizard of Fries.

I liked that Hootie BK commercial too, because the girls featured therein were smokin' hot.

Why is Burger King off-kilter? There is absolutely nothing wrong with being the Burger King! Burgers rule!

And Sushi King? Sushi? I think the idea of a king of raw fish is off-kilter!

Anyway, it would be the Sushi Emperor.order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

As far as fast food goes, BK isn't bad because at least they flame-broil the burgers.

McDonalds goes the unholy route of frying their hamburgers, which I've never understood. I mean, who do you know who fries hamburgers at home?

I've never had a BK burger dripping with grease like a McDonalds hamburger. That's why I swore off eating at McDonalds years ago. I got a couple of those grease bombs in a row and that was it for me.

But my favorite fast food burger is a White Castle, no contest.

Sure, WC steams the little patties, but again, they aren't greasy when you get them.

Yes, Fuddruckers is great, but it isn't really a traditional fast food restaurant.

If you like sushi, more power to you man. Raw fish is not my bag, but to each their own.where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

BK is actually not bad, It's one of the better major fast food chains (along with Hardee's) IMO. Like MutoidMan said, they don't fry their burgers (which is DISGUSTING btw, and at any of the resturaunts I've worked at, if anyone was ever caught doing that they'd get written up because it's evil and wrong) and their food just overall tastes better (once again, IMO)abortion pills online abortion questions cytotec abortion

Ok - all this BK talk is making me REALLY want a good, old fashioned, flame broiled Whopper!

Man, I haven't had one of those in some time. I don't do fast food much these days.

Sadly, it's actually very hard to find a "good" fast food joint around here. They're pretty much on every corner... but the chances of getting a good (fresh, hot, well-made) meal are very slim. It's like rolling the dice and the odds are against you.

I've actually thought about adding a whole section to my website devoted to fast food imagery. I would first display the commercial food - the way it looks. Then I'd offer video footage of the REAL thing being ordered, and unwrapped for visual comparison and eater's comments. I doubt that's anything new though... I mean someone must have done that before and put it out on the net.

I know the foods shown in the commercials are all dolled up (with makeup and unedible items that only look like food), but still - the food should not be all smooshed, unevenly stacked, and gross looking when it is unwrapped, like it often is in reality.

Still want my Whopper though. where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

I actually went to McDonalds today for lunch despite all your warnings. And yes, the burger sucked.

I should have gone to Burger King instead.

Hootie commercial...is that the one where they're down on the farm and the women have humongous.......hair?

I hated that commercial. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It was the worst campaign I think I've ever seen. Just stooopid. And it ended with the creepy King. Yes, he's incredibly creepy. And the Quaker Oats guy isnt' much better. Not as bad, though.

The Quaker isn't bad compared to the Burger King ads. Really, it's hard to make the quaker creepy. Just look at his humble little quaker grin.
