Yeah, I commented in a thread that I'm worrying about my graduation in May.
I'm going to be finished with college and search for a job and suffer like everyone else!
...what am I getting myself into? @_@

When I graduated, I was in a total panic as to the fact that I didn't have a "job". I was perfectly happy at my restaurant job, but was so into the fact that I had graduated and was supposed to have a "real" job that I took the first thing offered me.
Unfortunately, I graduated with a Journalism degree, which I ended up hating that profession, but didn't want to start school all over again. So, what did I end up in you ask? I was a retail manager with PetsMart. It totally sucked. You have to have a certain level of people skills to work in that industry which I don't have. Plus I was nothing more than a glorified stock person.
So I bounced around from here to there having jobs I totally hated, and ended up falling into a pretty decent one eventually (although it has its moments too).
So.. why am I rambling on about this? Basically to say that graduation doesn't mean much. Stick to your guns and find something you like and don't settle like I did. |

Heheheh, yeah.
I scanned my spiffy graduation announcement. They look really pretty and nice. (The texture of the paper is interesting!)

Congratulations!
You're almost done! Just a couple more weeks and then ALL that hard work will be in your hands, in the form of a degree. This little piece of paper will benefit you (and your income level) no matter what kind of profession you end up in.

Um... it's called: THE REAL WORLD
(and I'm not talking about some "reality" series on MTV)
It's not always fun, and it can be very tough and even cruel. But we all have to step in to it at some point and do what we can, and make the best of life

So long as you have a pulse and a desire for something better, you don't have to "settle".
Nothing is easy. You just have to ask yourself if it's worth the effort. Only you know the answer to that.
Just my unsolicited two cents.

The American school grade system in a nutshell:
* Kindergarten at about age 4 or 5, just one year.
* Grade school, generally from age 4 or 5 through 17 or 18, 12 grades, one each year.
* High school graduation at age 17 or 18.
* College from that point on to whatever degree is desired, though (as in any country) one can enter college at any age.

We're all right behind you or in front of you whn you goup to that podium and get your degree inn. Stammering cause I don't know what porodession your going into to. your dream profession. Like me in geeky programming in oracle, c++, html, cobol, and so on and so forth. now if I could just get out of that warehouse permanantly and get into the office 5 days a week and show em what I got and I'll be okay even if its my former employer. Still can use a lot of the programming skills that I have here.
