Sure - why not? That's kind of what the programs in the film were forced to play anyway. The one game where Flynn goes up against that accounting program was very similar to Pong.

What about if programs were put in... the Yar's Revenge arena? Now THAT would be entertaining, eh? A program chipping away at the force field protecting... whatever that thing is that you have to destroy. All the while that little blip is slowly creeping toward the program. The program will have to return to the neutral zone (sorry - don't mean that in a ST way) momentarily so as not to get derezzed by the ever persistent drone following. And then once enough of the barrier was chipped away... BRING IN THE LOGIC PROBE! Ok, it wasn't exactly a logic probe, but the program would have to fire off a round of the hyper canon thing AND dodge it's discharge to destroy the evil... thingie.

That would be fun, eh?

Man - I'd LOVE to produce some shorts like that. TRON like characters playing in what appears to be classic-style games of either the arcade, or home computing genre. But I'd need some circuitry suits... which I don't have. If only I could go down to the corner store and just pick one of those things up!
