The new series *is* actually very good. It's very different from the original, but I'm already a fan of the new one.

I like them both now, for different reasons.

The new version rocks. It's another BSG to me. Two distinct versions. I love both.order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

I'm going to have to go out on a limb here and say that I don't like the new BSG.

Being in the UK, I've took the time to sit down and watch some of the new episodes, I thought I'd give it a chance, but sadly I'm just as dissapointed as I was when I saw the mini-series.

I don't like most of the cast, only a couple of them are ok, but most of them seem boring and un-interesting. I wouldn't follow either this Adama or Roslin as leaders. The best actor I've seen so far is Richard Hatch, and he's only guest stared in 2 episodes. No chemistry between the characters/actors.

The lack of music troubles me, the shaky cam looks like it's been shot by a child, it makes me feel sick sometimes. I don't also get a sense of involvement in this series.

In short, I think that although the series may have some good ideas, what it's lacking is in it's final execution. But then thats just my opinion. You guys watch it and enjoy it for what it is

You're not the only one, TRUST me!

I'm saddened that felgercarb of this magnitude bears the name of my favorite childhood TV show - Battlestar Galactica.

They can call this what they want, but it is definitely NOT Battlestar Galactica. It is a poor attempt at taking a great show and making it modern. It could have been great, but they chose to throw away all that made BSG (the real one) great, and go for a moody, gritty... and weak show that is only loosely based in BSG in some design elements and story remnants. The characters are cold and the story is not quite what BSG (the real one) was.

This I learned from watching the "behind the scenes" thing they aired just before the original miniseries aired in late '03. I was so turned off by this, I refuse to watch the show, period. I don't care to watch the show, nor do I feel as if I'm missing out on anything by not watching it. When I first heard about the miniseries (some 6 months before it aired) I was VERY excited about it. But the more I learned about what it really was and how NOT BSG it would be, I felt cheated out of what could have been great sci-fi. And so I don't watch it.

I respect those who do enjoy the show and understand that those of us who really dislike the fact that it even exists are in the minority. The fact that they're making a series of this is proof of that.

As for me, I'll enjoy my REAL Battlestar Galactic on my DVD set. I can bring back to life the BSG universe any time I want via my DVD's and childhood memories and wonder of it.

I generally just ignore posts about this awful remake of an originally great show, but I had to chime in so you were not alone tronprogram. I imagine this thread will fill up with other enthusiasts of the new show. Oh well. Too bad for us.

I'll share this with you before I conclude my post. Just yesterday I was talking to my father on the phone. He also used to love the real BSG back in the 70's. Until recently, he had not seen the Sci-Fi miniseries remake. He told me a little about what he saw watching it the other day. And I quote - "...I watched it for a while hoping it would get better, but it just didn't. It wasn't just a bad show, it was bad 'sci-fi'." Keep in mind my father is a very open minded sci-fi loving guy who'll give just about anything a chance before passing any judgment. I laughed as he described his experience watching the portion of the show he sat through. And of course, he thought "Starbuck's" reimaging was just awful. He also spoke about how the technology seemed "stupid", noting their use of "tracer bullets" (or whatever they're called) in place of laser blasters. Some may call it an innovative, creative move... oh never mind. I'll just get jumped all over if I get in to why this kind of stuff like this is just so lame. I know - we've all got our own opinions and all.

Ok. That's it. Done ranting about this.

For all of you do enjoy the show, please - enjoy! We all have different tastes in entertainment. I'm sure this new series will outlast the original (in number of episodes), much to my chagrin. To each his own

Yeah, but Martin doesn't like my wife's cooking either, so his tastes are questionable! Just teasing Martin.

It's like anything else, some like it, some don't. My views run counter to Martin's on a lot of the same points.

I think the characters inter-relate well and they have sort of a zombie like quality that people who've been through a holocaust would have. The decision to leave ships behind and the moment with the little girl being destroyed because of it was very intense. The original series never came close to that level of feeling in a moment.

When the new President realizes she's the only council survivor and is in fact the President is very touching. You see the weight come onto her and you see her trying to do her best for her people and failing miserably.

Adama is human. Not the god-like always right Lorne Greene version (Which I love!), but a man who is a military leader who wants to protect his people, kills cylons and escape all in one moment.

Baltar is a man on drugs. He has the high of this beautful creature seducing him. He knows he shouldn't be doing what he is doing but he's intoxicated and hooked. He also can't escape what he's done. He's haunted by it, but he wants more. Baltar in the original series is an arrogant buffoon compared to this Baltar.

I too respect other opinions. I won't try to change any minds who don't care for it, but I wanted to share a little more about why I enjoy the new version as much as I like the older version.

The older one is more cartoony and fun, this one is more real and gritty to me. I love them both. Technology issues aside Todd! order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

My biggest problem is no cool theme music!!!! Well, that and human Cylons.

That's weak.

Sorry, but to me it is. Cylons are supposed to be unfeeling, unsympathetic "Soundwave" from Transformers-sounding killing machines!!!

I have no problem with Edward James Olmos but the rest of the cast just seems weak to me. Not that the original was Shakespearian by any means, but the actors and actresses put their hearts and souls into each and every episode.

This just feels like Battlestar Galactica: 90210. Too sexed up (and I loves me some sex, but it's just ridiculous when you're being hunted across the galaxy and all these people seem to want to do is fool around) and too "look at how serious we are" for my personal choice.

I think the new Galactica itself looks very bland - no character. I do like the Colonial Vipers and the Cylon Raiders are okay, too.

I don't hate the show, but to me it'd have been better if it wasn't called Battlestar Galactica.

I just got the entire original Galactica (complete in Cylon head box) and have been watching it lately. While it's not the best writing in the world, the people involved really cared to rise above the material and make it work.

And that theme is just one of the best ever. It's Star Wars good to me! And you know, it really helps make the episodes!

Here's hoping the new series gets a cool version of Lucifer! But he won't be as cool as the original! Why? Because he won't be voiced by Dr. Smith himself - Jonathan Harris!

Here's a link to the original thread in which TheReelTodd and I describe why we don't like the new BSG.

I think the original arguments still stand.

I was a huge fan of the original series. I watched this new series thinking I wouldn't like it much but I quickly changed my mind. IMO the acting is really good, especially for a Sci-Fi Channel series, the effects are movie quality and the sets and storyline are dark, just the way I like 'em. I think how they "reimagined" Baltar is well done. I do wish the machine Cylons looked more like this but I can deal with the Terminator/Superbattledroid-esque Cylons and even the "human" like Cylons, which I thought was going to be my biggest difficulty. I do wish they hadn't changed the Cylon Base Stars much, the new ones are nowhere near as cool as the original. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the series.where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

Of course no one has to agree with me!

Just as everybody was free to like New Coke and Crystal Pepsi, you can like the new BSG all you want.

OK, I've liked BSG MkII so far. Then I got to Episode 3 where Richard Hatch guest stars as a terrorist.

What a snooze! That's 60 minutes of my life I am not getting back, thankfully I was doing something worth my time while I watched so it's not a total loss.

There was absolutely no excitement in the episode at all. It was flat from start to finish for me. Very dissapointing.

One more episode like that and I am done with it.where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

Episode 12 (and I'm sure 13) make up for all the dull and boring episodes, in spades. I thought episodes 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, and 10 were the best up until now. Episode 4 is so-so but there's one standout scene that makes it worth watching. I'm sure everyone will recognize it when they see it.
