I bought, as a whim, the 2010 DVD from Best Buy this week. It still remains one of my favorite sci-fi flicks, and I enjoyed it immensely.
However I was happy to note that in the credits I saw, as "Visual Futurist", was none other than Syd Mead.
Rock On Syd! You embody my vision of the future and certainty have influenced it.

Syd has done a ton of stuff, least known is the design of the aliens for Wing Commander: Prophecy. Good stuff, there. Of course, the guy's a freakin' genius.
