I am about to launch a series of interviews with people who have intersected with TRON in some fashion. The subject of these interviews is Are You A TRON Fan?
The idea is to get people to reveal their inner TRON fan to the world. Each interview will be 10 questions, and I already have my first subjects selected.
The first interview will be with Regurgitator, the band that did the TRON themed video for their song Everyday Plan.
The second interview may be with Fee Waybill of The Tubes.
I also have a third in mind with Barbara Eden who played Jeannie in 'I Dream Of Jeannie'. I have a couple of ideas beyond that as well, but I will reveal those later.
I think these will be fun to do, and I bet that once I get it rolling I can get to a lot of people for interviews.
I am trying to develop a series of questions that I can pose. I'd like to come up with 20 to 30 standard questions and then I will use 10-15 per interview, mixing them up as I go with custom questions for the person being interviewed. Any suggestions for questions?
Any suggestions for people to try to interview?

I would love you to interview either Danny Elfman (film score composer and former Oingo Boingo band member) or Tim Burton on how Tron may have influenced them. Danny might not have much to say on the subject, but Tim might.
I would personally like to know how they reacted to the film when it came out, and also how they think the legacy of Tron has endured over the years.
It would also be cool to know if they ever played the game, too.

Tim Burton had crossed my mind. I know someone who knows someone who knows him, so it might be doable. Danny might be tough, but I will add him to the list.
I want to try to get Bill Gates to do one for me. Steven thinks he has said he is a TRON fan, and I would love to confirm it. Steve Jobs too. While I am at it, perhaps JOhn Lasseter at PIXAR needs to be on my list of interviewees?

Here's one that came to mind Dt. How about Wozinack there. Jobs assoicate when they were developing Apple there? Just thought of that when you had mentioned Steve Jobs. Gates would be interesing as well never really thought that he would be a tron fan myself.

Another you should consider is Sir Clive Sinclair: inventor of the ZX Spectrum computers and godfather of personal computing in Britain.
I met him last week at his London address (opp Trafalgar Square of all places) to discuss his biography. He agreed, and I start penning it in the New Year. Anyway...
I briefly mentioned Tron to him - Dillinger's desk. Sinclair said he'd designed something similar but couldn't be bothered to mass produce them. I'll be interviewing him every week for two months so I may ask him some more about Tron. Any suggestions, folks?
For everyone's info: Sir Clive Sinclair invented the first pocket calculator (The Executive); the first LED digital watch (The Black Watch - he gave me one last week!); the first flat-screen pocket television; the best selling personal computer of all time (at one point - over 25 millions Speccy's have been sold); and, of course, the 'failed' C5: the first eco-friendly, electric road vehicle.
The guy's a genius, and I recommend you read my book when it comes out at the tail end of next year. He's familiar with Tron so I look forward to picking his brain about it a bit more.
Cheers!

Feel free, Dave. Sir Clive is a very receptive chap. Be happy to punt a few Tron-related questions to him for you.

What about The Strokes? Considering their TRON related video it would be good if that could happen.

I'd like to see what Dennis Muren at ILM would have to say about Tron.
He gives a nice interview on The Last Starfighter DVD's documentary on the film's effect on CGI and special effects.
I'd also like to see Stan Winston's take, since he helped develop Digital Domain.
James Cameron would be a great one, as would Ridley Scott (Blade Runner and Tron have such wonderful Syd Mead designs).
Heck, let's go for George Lucas while we're at it! He obviously loves CGI and I'm sure Tron made him rethink things about digital technology!
Peter Jackson developed WETA and I'm sure Tron would be an important film for him!abortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

Or pick a random member of the Tron-Sector community and ask them the questions.
This way we get to learn more about our fellow conscripts!

Just a flash of thought. Richard Edlund worked on the very first Star Wars in the VFX dept and supervised the visual effects of loads of other movies. Lets see what he thought of TRON. I might be able to make that happen.

I believe you once mentioned you had contact with Dean Jefferies. I doubt he's a TRON fan as he made his living making models for movies in the real world and not the digital world but I've always found what he had to say interesting even if I didn't agree with it. I'd love to here his answers to some of your TRON questions.

Ah-ha! *Points* See? ^^
Anyways, I'm not competely a big fan of Tarantino's works. I think my sig (However rambly it is) just scratches the surface on the Kill Bill movies.
The only exception was Hero. It looks like it might be a better movie. But still.... *worries*
So what is Tarantino's connection to Tron if you don't mind me asking?

Ohhh.... *Nods* Got ya. Okay.
Anyways, well... I was saying DaveTRON could interview you. The ah-ha part was just me being a little silly. ^^;; Nothing too unusual there. Probably the most usual part is the that when I shake my head, you can hear rattling. It broke a few weeks ago. j/k

And Kamui, Quentin Tarantino had nothing to do with the movie Hero other than getting Miramax to get off their lazy duffs and release the film, which he loves.
Hence the "Quentin Tarantino Presents" tagline on the film. He just used his name to get the film a distribution. It's actually a two-year old film!
Give it a shot, although I can't imagine how one couldn't enjoy the pure popcorn, Shaw Brothers-influenced fun of Kill Bill Volumes 1 & 2! But maybe that's just me!
