I've had an idea since early 2004 to try and arrange some screenings of TRON in the US. LA had it's shot, there were two in Texas, and the recent screening in the UK was remote, but available.
Yet there are still fans of the movie that don't get the opportunity to see TRON on the big screen.
Prior to the El Capitan screenings in May, TRON was run at a midnight screening at the Nuart Theatre in Santa Monica. It was a horrible 35mm print, but the lines were huge and everyone had a great time. I went with Richard Taylor, the Visual Effects Supervisor on TRON.
My question is this.
If screenings were to be arranged aroudn the US, say three to four of them. Where should they be held? What cities, what theatres?
I'd like to hear people's ideas on the subject. I might try drafting a proposal to the PR people at Disney and see if they'd help me make something happen.
No promises, but it's worth looking into. Let's hear your ideas.order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

Kansas City is closer and might work.... but since I don't live in KC, the second choice is Wichita where I am.
I'm just not sure if the screening would work in those two cities since they're really just in middle of the country.
And I didn't know there were two in Texas. o_o D'oh.
Someday... I swear, someday I'll get to see Tron on the big screen!abortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

Well, I'm in Charleston, West Virginia. We have many theaters that run 35mm prints of films, so that wouldn't be a problem. Hell, we have at the Clay Center (our fine arts/science center) a 60 mm ElectraDome Theater (not quite IMAX, and on a concave ceiling) that may work and they are always holding special events as fancy as you'd want or as simple as you'd want.
There is also the old Capitol Theater, where we run the WV Film Festival. It's old-school (I saw The Empire Strikes Back there) and they have nice film events there all the time (just recently had John Sayles here for a screening of Silver City). Then of course we have the Park Place Stadium Cinemas (11 screens) and the Marquee Cinemas (12 screens - 2 are THX-enhanced facilities).
If not Charleston (which is four hours away from Pittsburgh, 3 from Columbus and 3.5 from Cincinnati) then Pittsburgh I'm sure would be a good place. I'm not familiar with it, but I'd think a town that big would have some great theaters, too.
If we had it in Charleston, I'd gladly host a party for the Tron-Sector crew at my PimpLair (tm) for grillin', chillin' and thrillin' with my Sector-Peeps.
I'd gladly make the four-hour trip to Pittsburgh/Columbus/Cincinnati to see the film, however. I just couldn't host a party!where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

Well it just wouldn't be a screening without a pimp party too! The theatre suggestions are good, can you get me phone numbers for them? What I am looking for is a standalone single screen theatre in each city that shows things like Rocky Horror Picture Show or classic films. Those places are very receptive to what I am hoping to do.
Kia and Boingo_Buzzard, can you look for such places in your areas?order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill DaveTRON

Then you'd want the Capitol Theater.
The number there is (304) 342-6522. Laura McCullough is the program coordinator and Gary Smith is the building trades worker.
So, I'd say Laura would be your best bet.
Check this link for dimensions of the stage and other info on the building: http://www.wvsc.edu/general/capcenter/info.asp
The theater is used by the Charleston Stage Company for various theatrical productions throughout the year, so their schedule is the only thing I could see giving you any heartburn. But they have hosted the CSC's production of the Rocky Horror Show, even letting them have a midnight showing and allowing them to sell kits for audience interaction.
And it'd be my honor and privilege to host my fellow Tron-Sector friends for a party!

Seattle, WA, or somewhere in the surrounding vicinity would be awesome! I meant to do some research a while back to see if any theaters would want to play Tron, but kind've forgot :P The "U-District" (University of Washington area) as well as Seattle must have some type of theater that would be able to play it. Surely there are lots of Tron fans up here. We're artistic peeps up here, as well as kind've geeky cuz of Microsoft, etc.

That's great news for any of our northwest fans.

Awesome! Depending on the weather/road conditions and other stuff that might be going on around that time, I might have to drive down and check it out! I have a friend who lives down there who is also a Tron fan who'll be interested to hear this, I'm sure!! Still, I'll hope for something more local to Seattle or north of Seattle in Western WA.

I'll be going to it, even though I live in the Seattle area. Driving down with a fellow Tron fan to see it on 12/31, then continuing on down to Eugene for a New Year's Eve celebration.
Anyone else going to it? Surely there are other Tron fans in the Pacific Northwest...abortion pills online abortion questions cytotec abortion

For what it's worth, the owner of Edinburgh's Dominion cinema - one of the last Art Deco cinema's in the UK by the way - said he'll put Tron on for me... provided that I stump up the £200 required. So, if there's anyone in the UK that fancies coming to Edinburgh to watch it, we could always pull together a 'Tron fund' to get it up on the big screen.

Traahn,
I bet the 35mm print is the one the DGA has been using to do screenings lately. It was made in 1999 from the remastered version on the DVD from what I am told. It is beautiful if it's the one I am thinking of.
I have seen some bad prints where everything is deep red instead of black, and those, while still fun, are not easy to watch.
Please take lots of pictures while you are there. Theatre, marquee, posters, the lot. Grab any flyers too if possible and send them down to me for scanning? Pretty please?
I hope you have fun, wish I could be there.abortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion

Ahh, good points, DaveTRON. I had totally forgotten I should take a camera! I'll have to see if I can borrow a digital camera from my family. Yes, I'm still in the dark ages . I'll try to grab some extra movie propaganda, too. I hope they're playing the 35mm print you're referring to! That'd be sweet! The only thing that could possibly get in my way of going down there is a bunch of snow. I haven't seen any weather reports, but driving a couple hundred miles in snow would suck. I have a Sony video camera that I'll bring down there, too. I don't think I have firewire, however, so I'm not sure how I'd get a decent quality video into my PC. I used the USB connection to my PC before, but the video quality that resulted on the PC was horrible compared to the original Hi-8.
PS: Corruption - That'd be cool if you can go. I hope you can make it!

Traahn,
If you want, you can send me the tape and I can run it through my editing suite here. I can do DVD quality stuff here. I use Hi-8 and digital video sources. I can send it back in any format you want.
Any doo dads you can pick up are appreciated.
Most of all....I want to go! Waaahhh! DaveTRON
