Well, this isn't technically a fanfic, it's more a thing I threw togheteher in a fit of inspiration and found it doesn't really belong anywhere else on these forums. It's also my first creative item in English, so be kind, ok?
DAEDALUS SYSTEM PROGRAM DATABASE: TEXTPAD

Tools of his trade: HTML tidy, Magic Mail Monitor, Fan Fiction Formatting Tool.

Background Info: The User's editor of choice ever since the End of Isolation, Textpad is one of the oldest and more experienced programs of his 'hood. This harldy reflects on his appearance, since a long association with his User has shaped Textpad's icon and behavior much like His own. As a result, TM looks like a lad in his mid-twenties, of unimpressive height and build, with a goatee and an almost Cyranesque nose.
When called into action, Textpad is all businness. Often seen running around the desktop with a massive "notes.txt" file under his arm, he's a relentless and stable text editor, proud of the efficency of his "search and replace" function. He manages all of the user's writing fits (much to the annoyance of Word, who considers himself much more suited for the task), as well as the couple dozens .html files required for the User's three Internet sites. As such, he's usually working with Explorer and Firefox, and the three of them has become quite close friends.
In his free time, Textpad reveals a laid back nature quite at odds with his frantic job personality. he likes nothing more
than kick back with a can of Energon and a 100k+ fanfic file, even tough every intelligible combination of ascii characters will usually polarize his attention- he's _that_ voracious. His "reading trance" is a running joke around his group (detractors- such as the Office posse- would call it "clique"), to a point where they sometimes have to phisically shake the editor out of it, to bring him along for a night out at the Nethers Pub or a screening at the DVD player (his all-time favorite movie is
"Equilibrium").
Textpad loves videogames, but in general is a rotten player. He's fascinated by the design and storytelling of RPG games, so you'll usually find him playing the healer with a couple of other programs and taking the lead only when his enormious knowledge of videogame walkthroughs is needed. He's absolutely useless as a strategist and hates when some new program looks
at him and assumes he likes playing chess- he doesn't.
(Unbeknownst to many he's really, really good at
Joust. Why and when he acquired such a prowess at that particular game is unknown, and he won't say).
Just like every program in this time of digital hazards, he attends regular combat training at the facility of local security chef ZoneAlarm "Zoner" McFirewall. His performance ratings could be described, in the words of the coach himself, "not bad.. for a bookworm".
He knows he couldn't be a match for a big time virus or intrusion program, but that doesn't worry him overmuch- after all, he lives in a computer full of capable fighters. Even so, he likes squaring off against the occasional adware or indulging in spam-blasting every now and then as a stress countermeasure.
As an unavoidable part of his nature, Textpad has read too much about the world and seen very little of it. He sometimes fusses about it, especially how he'd really like to visit the Encom network and finally get to know his childhood hero, Tron.
His dedication and loyality to his User won't even let him bring up the subject with Him- and he assumes, rather correctly, that the User would be lost without His right-hand program.
