Wow! I really should visit this site more often...
Hate to tell you guys but if I had seen that prop I woulda grabbed it.
I used to have one just like it, it was made from foam rubber except it had a piece of paper with concentric rings glued to the middle and velcro on the back.
It was indeed an actual disc prop from Tron and complete with certificate of authenticity.
It was sorta yellowed so I sold it for $300 back in the days before ebay. Then there are those days I wish I hadn't. :P
And you people should check ebay more often... lol
I just sold a mint original set of storyboards for $200!
What was I thinking. hehe
There are some pretty unique animation cels up there for a few more hours too.

Just because someone offers a COA doesn't make it real. The discs from the movie were much bigger than the piece of trash in that auction. I will post the visual proof later today.
I'm glad none of our users were dumb enough to get sucked into that one, even though the other bits he was selling are legit PR materials.

I'm just sayin it looks a lot like one I used to own years ago that WAS real, I think the guy might have got a deal. They poured foam rubber into frisbees as molds and then used them in the scenes where there is a disc on the character's back. If you look close at the item you can see the frisbee rings in the outer edge.
But how can anyone say from a pic if it was real or not?

I have a small shrine myself, but I'm lousy at winning aunctions. XP
I usually try to get the ones I know that I have a chance with.  It's just that I'm a broke college student. ^^;
...that reminds me, I haven't gotten anything Tron-esque since I grabbed Tron 2.0 Killer App for gba. (I should frame the three other posters I have. Though, one of them needs to be custom framed, eek.)
