Silver and I were converting a friend to Tron 2.0 by playing the updated demo. :P
Lightcycles was too funny with sudden runintos the wall.
Suffice to say, Silver realizes that he shouldn't type while driving. BAHAHAHAHA.
Anyone ever played Tron 2.0 with their sigificant other or have any funny stories to tell?
Edit-- So... it turns out that I'm god-like at lightcycles. The thing was that JII and Silver said "what" in response to me having said, "Am I good or what?" Must beat them up. Kia: Cool. I'm a infamous mythological perfect User.

You sound too good, Kia -- I'd hate to have to go against you on the game grid!
I'm getting out of here right now, and you guys are invited. -----^ |

Well, unfortunately my wife is not in to computers or games at all
But... do I have funny stories to tell about light cycling?
OH YES I DO!
There's plenty of silly stuff that goes on regularly on the internet multi-player light cycle game grid.
I post frequently about it here.
In fact, there is a really cool husband and wife team out there who play regularly: ShivaGoddess and her hubby Layer.
If you and Silver have started playing mutli-player - I'd love to see the both of you out there on the game grid sometime
I usually post when I'll be out there, and I almost always do a follow up post to let people know who was out there and some of the silly stuff that went on.
You too Traahn - I've been trying to get more of the TRON-Sector programs to meet out there.
I think you'll ALL become instantly addicted to the experience - GREAT fun!
FYI - You really need high-speed internet, like DSL, cable modem, or T1 to properly compete, or the lag will kill the experience.

As soon as I ccan get one of these other machines up to specs I'll be there. for sure. Just having huge arguments with the hardware to worrk right. You know how it goes when you get second hand machines around.

Silver and I'm trying to figure out how to get a copy of Tron 2.0 to JanusII and another friend, Firedrake.
Word of advice: Playing tron 2.0 demo on a laptop in disc area is BAD. Can't move properly. My timing on jumping was way off and I kept spasming with the wireless mouse, mis-aiming my disc. @_@

Sorry... Solo like always.
But I do remember my first encounter with the tanks. I was thinking that they would explode and I could get to the other side of those platforms. Was I ever wrong! At the last minute I figured out that those damn tanks were indestructable. Gah! But it's funny now that I look back on it. *Giggles* Fight before flight!

Thanks for the help here and to everyone else for this. There is a snag that I am caught in here for the time being its with some parts that I had gotten from an old client of mine that I had received about 2 weeks ago. 1 Aptiva 2158-281 computer bare bone with mobo with CPU and fan. an old socket 7 with an AMD K6-2 400 mhz slapped into it. and two other mobo with fan and cpu With their respective socket 370 and socket 7 on them. The thing that is tieing me up over here is that two out of the three are not really good for Tron with the exception of the one
Asus mobo with the socket 370 celeron 400 that came with it. THe problem is that with the Mobo I can go as high as a celeron 1000 mhz with it. But it doesn't have the agp port built into it. So I can't really used the Nvidia FX 5200 with it at all. only with the built in video card that is available with it. And even with that I can go as high in memory wise about 512 megs worth of 168 dimm SDRAM onboard.
I do however have an AMD Duron 1300 CPU that was also given to me to used. Once again I need to buy extra the mobo that will work with it. I have found maybe several from a local dealer that I can run this cpu on it. But its going to be choppy as all heck broke loose with it. And the DDR is still fairly expensive up here. I would be getting like at least 1 gig of ram to make sure that I have plenty for the game and the Operating system to work with. bThe others I am not going to try and get going to work with tron. With the exception of using them for something else that can be done with them like an ftp server or make one usable for my father to do simple word processing and the what ever else he wants including access to the net with them. Kind of in a bind right now for cash until the bills are paid off entirely over here.
So I am in a catch 22 of sorts here with the things that I had gotten recently. But they are still good for some other things with the exception of playing tron on them.

I wish. My computer is up-to-speed: Tron 2.0 'Single Player' runs really great. Unfortunately, I only have 56K dial-up
I tried the MP disc games and stuff when the game first launched, but with 56K dial-up, it's just not fast enough for me to be competitive. It's no fun getting hit 5 times and only hitting the enemy once because where I aim is where the person was 2 seconds ago.
I can get broadband in this area, but I just can't justify spending $50/month just to have a fast internet connection right now. *sigh* Maybe one of these days...
Thanks for the invite, though! You know I'd be out there if I could.

Oh my gosh. The Aptiva you have is similar to the ones my mother bought for herself and my brother. I think its a 2170 with the same processor on board. Not very good anymore for the new hard-core games I am afraid. I remember my brother trying to play Deus Ex on it. It ran....barely, I gave him a PCI TNT2 card that helped out a bit but it was no where near as fluid as it should be. My suggestion would be to get yourself on EBAY and search for boards. Even though its an older board I highly recommend the ASUS A7N8x Deluxe. You can usually find someone selling one on EBAY and often for a not too steep price. Nice thing about the board is it will accept Durons from 1gig up and Athlons at 1 gig and up, so it will work with that processor you have laying about. It also has 8x AGP, Dual LANS, 6 USB and 2 Firewire and SATA Raid onboard and Nvidia NForce2 chipset with Soundstorm on board sound. I understand you are kinda strapped for cash, but I would suggest checking out EBAY just to window shop, you could get lucky and I used to see these boards go for $20 OEM (board only, no accesories). This of course is without shipping.
This is basically what my brother did to build his comp and he came in about 300 dollars under budget, the fact I also gave him a processor as his graduation present also helped too . I think he got his board for $70 bucks from EBAY, with all the accessories and its even a revision 2.00 A7N8X Deluxe so right from the start it will take the few AMD 400mhz front side bus processors. One question. Do you have a fan for the Duron processor, cuz you are gonna want a decent heatsink fan too? You don't have to by a The "Word to the Motherboard!" - IsoLine |

Well there are a couple of mobos that I am looking at right now that could be used with that CPU from AMD Socket A processor that I have there. One is from abit that Kmon had suggested to me offline here is the ABIT NF7 NFORCE2 AGP 8X DDR400 , The other one that I am looking at personally is the ECS 7VMM3 KM266 The local dealer that is not too far away from where I am working right bow has them with the CPU included with it for about $50 cdn more. Here is the link to their section here. http://www.megapc.com/dept.asp?dept_id=44-002 They are in Canadian prices over here. I'm still thinking of Microstar International as well as an alternative as well. Since I have a guy in the distribution channel. So I might be able to get them a couple of dollars cheaper than what they are sellin at the mom and pop stores.
I do have an extra socket 370/socket A cpu hanging arond here. It came with another mobo and cpu that were faulty as faulty can be with them. Its an aluminium fan with a ball bearing fan on top. Keeps it nice and cool. Just trying to remember if I shold put one of those duakl tape adhesives between the cpu and fan to get a better contact with both of them for cooling Purposes. I had a bad experience with the gel type of gunk used for heat transfer between the two. And I don't want to rune another mobo and cpu because of that alone.
Asus has been good in the past I have built a cople of machines with their mobo's. and had good experience with them in the past. Don't know how much better they are now with the current line of cpu's.
As for the Aptiva 2158-281 that I have here I might used that for my father for general purpose use like word processing and the what nots or something along the lines that doesn't require a lot of cpu usagefor what I can think of. The same goes with the other two that I have here the two mobos. which are from asus as well. Just can't find the documentations for them since Asus made them for HP and all that. So its slightly harder to find them withing their database sets obline.

Hey Isoline,
Here is the numbers that I was able to find on the mobo that I was having problems in getting the information for it. It is from Asus its the MEW-VM. On one of the PCI slots that is near the outer edge of mobo. If your looking at it from the front view of it. Its the fatherest to the left hand side of the mobo. The numbers there that are above and below the Bar code is this.5184-3418 1.02-A04 ACI -M6P670-A04-08240. From what I have gathered from this its a 1.02 version a04. The others I have tried googleing to see what it comes up with but so far no luck with it at all. And its very limiting to what I have found on this Mobo. The other one that I have working with the socket 7 from Asus I was able to find directly from Asus. But it was a replacement mobo from Asus to HP An OEm version. I had also found out when I booted that particular mobo up tht it too was from HP. Because it displayed the HPlogo on boot up.
