Okay, everyone - here's a couple of pics of a car that was used in a TV show back in 1983-84. The show used the visual tech from TRON for the car and the lead character. Do you remember the show?
For 20 bonus points - what kind of car was it?

OKay I'll give it a whack here and there. The show was Automan back in 83-84. The car looks like or could be a kit car of a lamborghini Contact modeled from some nifty graphics of Tron Movie.
Am I close to it or what?? Do I win a prize of some sort.

The show is Automan by Glen Larson from 83. It starred Desi Arnaz Jr. and Chuck Wagner and was produced w/ the help of Donald Kushner. I believe the car is not a lamborgini but a modified Aston Martin Bulldog designed specifically for the show.

Man, you guys are good! Yeah, the show was called Automan. I remember watching every episode, even though there were only about 8 of them - the show kind of sucked.
The car - a Lamborghini Countach LP400, the first version of the Countach, built between 1974 - 1978.
The only reason I know so much about the car is that it's been my one true obsession since, well - even since when TRON was released!!
I'm gonna have to come up with something a lot tougher for this group!!

Haaaaaaaaa!
Automan!
I LOVED that show!
I was about 12 or 13 when that was on TV. I clearly remember being VERY excited about the show, as it was basically like TRON for TV to me. I kind of remember it being a little on the cheesy side, but at that age, a little cheese didn't bother me too much, so long as it wasn't total crap.
Automan (the character) was a VERY TRON-like character, from his look to his premise (an electronic being).
I LOVED the car too!
That thing was soooooo cool - it drove around a lot like a light cycle, making 90 degree turns and all! It used to crack up me and my Dad every time the guy who created Automan (I forget that character's name) would slam up against the passenger window in the car when it would turn.
I was kind of torn on how I felt about Automan's glowing through his (regular human) cloths. It kind of looked cool, but it was really odd how that never really gave him away to people... though I think he may have been questioned about it once or twice.
But that show was GREAT fun!
I remember watching that show and... was it called... "Wiz Kids"? I think that show was on around the same time, and also too short lived. Wiz Kids was a geek show, about computer geeks who solved mysteries and crime if memory serves. And I was a geek that LOVED Wiz Kids!!
Thanks for this post, Get a CLU - you just sparked many fond TV memories!

Yeah I remember that in a the main character always had his face hitting the passenger windows when he 90 degree left turns there. If anyone can correct me on this. I remember vaguely as well that there was a helicopter in there that was about the same colour as the LP400 that they had. Does anyone else remember this helicopter from the show.

There was not just a Helicopter but a Motorcycle and a strange hybrid looking jetplane that was pretty much a model of the same Lamborgini with wings and thrusters. Cursor was a handy little thing.
