Trouble with tanks

...I'm stuck in the Main Processing Core trying to get past the tanks, and I either get blown to bits, or the platform I'm on is de-rezzed... Anyone have any tips on getting through here?

I checked the Unofficial Tron 2.0 FAQ, but that level hasn't been posted yet.

You could try to use the quick saves in between jumps.

Otherwise, you just have to move super-fast. (those tanks seriously scared me. AIEEE.)

Yeah, Kia pretty much nailed it.

Use those quick saves often, BUT don't use them if you've gotten too much knocked out of ya already

My advice is to make it to the other side of the room, where the blocks are. Just keep trying to get across that area where the tanks shoot at you and the landing area keeps derezzing momentarily - you'll find your way across.

Don't forget to get those important build points at the other side, located near the blocks at the other end (which provide decent cover between blasts when you get there).

If you get hit once or twice on the way over - don't worry - there are health and power orbs to charge you back up over there too. And there's also a very nifty and useful little item that you don't want to miss - check that other side well before activating the middle lift area

Oh yeah! I remember that! I-no says "did I mention watch out for the tanks..." Or something along those lines and here I am thinking: "Tanks? HA! I can take those out!" I was shooting at them and such until I was told that they were INDESTRUCTABLE. That shut me up for a while. ^^;;

In any event, I believe there's a pattern to those tanks. They're a little slow so I used a classic trick used in the animal kingdom by zig-zagging Jet all over the place in unpredictable motions. It helped out quite a fair bit. just watch where you're zig-zagging.

Thanks a heap guys! I've since made it up to Hub City. I basically took your suggestions and hauled program butt through the tanks, got the build notes, and the Code Optimization Ware, and got out... And here I was trying to be all strategic about it... Just goes to show that sometimes strategy ain't always the best approach.


Actually, I thought the shifting platforms that I had to deal with prior to reaching the Tron Legacy code were going to be worse than the tanks... Hmm... I think they were... several times.

BTW - how did Code Optimization Wares and Finders get into the EN12-82? Aren't they awfully new for that system? And even if they were older versions from the EN12-82's era the COWs most likely wouldn't be compatible with Jet's current subroutines.

Glad you made it through the tank crossfire and even through that EVIL platform jumping race against time to shut down the three main switches just before getting to the TRON Legacy Code. 1st person platforming is NOT an easy task, especially against the clock!

I'm curious - do you find yourself horribly addicted to the game, constantly putting off other things JUST to get to the next part in the game? My first time through, I REALLY had trouble tearing myself away from it! I was surprised with how well the game really took me in! Of course, I've been waiting for an experience like that since I was a kid and saw the film for the first time back in '82. Better late than never, eh?
