Kamui.EXE here.
Anyways, I noticed something very strange in Fcon's mobile server just as it was disintergrating. FLYING DATAWRAITHS! I'm not sure if this was a glitch or something but I expected them to be sucked off the server, not FLYING and RUNNING around like the Flash.
*tests Flying Datawraith theory by getting Harpo (Since he's the closest program we have for this test) and pushes him off a tall structure with some soft Data Packets for him to land in in case this doesn't work out* Go, Harpo! Is he just falling with style or is he actually flying?
Has anyone else noticed the flying Datawraiths as well?

Missed it because I was running for my life and windows crashed right back to the desktop. (This kind of crash happened to several people, and they weren't sure if it was intentional or ironic!) Kia: Cool. I'm a infamous mythological perfect User.

Another thought just occured to me dealing with the Datawraiths' fighting abilities. They're all busy trying to get in your face with mesh. Now here's the difficulty, Mesh are ranged weapons meaning that they are ment to be shot from a distance. But why are they trying to get so close to take a shot? If they were using Suffusion, then it's understandable because that weapon doesn't have much range to it but it doesn't make sense for the mesh. On the same note is the resource hogs. These guys won't move in, instead I've found that they'll wait for you to come closer. Now consider this, if there's quit a fair bit of distance between you and him and he's shooting at you, wouldn't it be far more strategic if he moved in to you and fired off his suffusion considering the range it has. They might as well armed him with mesh. I guess if you were going to try and get an answer as to why they don't move in for the deresolution maybe they're just stupid?
Hm.... what an interesting set of enigmas and subroutines....

Bingo.
Seriously, though: The mesh is a ranged weapon, but it's not very accurate at all. More like a submachine gun than a rifle. At long range, they're just spraying their shots all over the place and wasting energy; at close range, they'll get hacked to death with your disc or a Suffusion weapon. Best to maintain medum range if you're using a Mesh. Of course, I think the Mesh is generally useless against the rest of the Tron weapons. (No offense, Harpo.) It uses lots of energy, unlike the Disc; it's no good at long range, unlike the Disc; it has no defensive function, unlike the Disc... its saving grace is that you can hold down a sustained barrage of fire, which can disorient your opponent enough to prevent him from responding, as do the Rod and Energy Claw weapons. I use the Mesh rarely, if ever.order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

Hey, the data wraiths probably don't know how they should be handled... it's a different kind of weapon. Though, it sounds like a gun...where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

Quite literately sounds like a gun.
I guess you can somewhat assume that the Datawraiths are just bad shots, after all they're hackers who spend much of their time in front of a computer than firing an automatic weapon..... *Shrugs*

I never liked them, that's why I just leave out the killer frisbee and take 'em out with the taser.
They mop up in seconds, and then I'm on my way.

At first I thought the Blaster Mesh was useless too, but with the right subroutines added it can be pretty deadly. Still uses quite a bit of energy though, so that is definitely its downside.
I think the DataWraiths just like to annoy you, which is why they close in and take potshots. They're Users too, so they're arrogant and think they can take on anyone.
Suffusion on the other hand, is almost totally useless. At least, to you as the player. Funny how when it enters the hands of the Resource Hogs, it suddenly becomes a deadly weapon.
They use them like sniping experts! Range seems to be increased dramatically, and their accuracy is just unbelievable. It's like they have some kind of special bonus that allows them to use Suffusion effectively, whle to everyone else it's just about worthless.

DataWraiths went through extensive training before they were digitized. Sure, all we see is them doing pushups for the French lady, but the emails we download during the game speak of extensive training, and I'm sure it wasn't all Dowloading 101...

Uhh.... either their trainers were stupid or the Datawraiths themselves..... Yes..... being stuck up and arrogant doens't seem to get you very far now does it?
Yes.... Stupidity just so happens to be my concept for the evening.
Now it makes me wonder how far will a push up get you......

Didn't anybody ever upgrade the Mesh Energy Claw to gold?! That thing is wicked; it's probably the most satisfyingly evil weapon ever! It's got useful range, you can nail targets from behind cover, and targets are incapacitated (even Seekers) while in the grip of the Energy Claw. I've even grabbed two Data Wraths in the grip of the Energy Claw simultaneously.

Ah... uh.... *Sweatdrops* Now just how close did you have to be to the seeker? I was never able to grab it even with a Mesh Claw gold.

I hid behind the storage cubes at the far end of the Data Wraith/Seeker map, and whenever the Seeker appeared right on the other side of the cubes I used the Energy Claw against it.

Ohhh... *Nods* Actually, for that level, I hid in the same spot taking pot shots with my LOL at the Datawraiths and the Seeker without having to move very far (It was the place behind the cubes with the unlimited energy patch routine) You have to have a LOL gold in order for that to work.

[off-topic] WHEEE! I CAN FLY! I CAN FLY!!!! *splat* ow... maybe not...[/off-topic]
hmm... flying datawraiths... haven't run into many of those... as for the datawraith's get-in-your face attitude, it works well sometimes, but I'll get back to that in a second. the mesh's energy claw is a great weapon because it has the effect of the rods with no energy useage. the prankster bit is also (imo) a handy weapon for enemies in groups and is especially helpful in the last level of the game. (the only downside being the same as that of the disc- you can't do anything until it returns to you, or in this case, blows up.) the mesh primitive is helpful in a pinch [in the game]. it's fire is not really erratic, not as straight as the LOL, but that's a great weapon anyway. it's rapid rate of fire makes it the kind of weapon that you use to pound on a enemy with, not really to take careful aim as you would with, say, the LOL or suffusion. (although I have to agree- how are hogs so good with that thing?!) and the mesh sucks a lot of energy, which is really it's only detraction.
and as for the Datawraith's odd attack pattern, getting into your face works well in the game because you can't use the more powerful weapons because of the backlash, and in the real world of Tron, it makes sense because they can turn invisible, then appear right in your face with a ly mesh pointed at you. pure intimidation. I've also noticed that in the datawraith/seeker level, they would often go invisible, then appear in front of me or behind me while I was reloading or taking aim on the submerged seeker.
I belive that most of the datawraiths' stratedgy was based in intimidation. their spooky sounds, turning invisible, (not that they were very visible to begin with) and the battle stratedgy. like in the fCon levels, the programs were scared to of the datawraiths.
so my conclusion is that the Datawraiths were probably not trained to be uppity, but to be really, really scary. as grand Moff Tarkin said it in A New Hope, "Fear will keep the local systems line."

Ugh. Datawraiths. That is why I love the Prankster Bit. Anyhow they do have that "ether mode" that allows them to become ghostlike and rather speedy. I actually had one outrun the influence of the prankster bit during the mission to cripple the server. Talk about hellascary. I do like their claw though. Real fun for grabbing those ICPs that like to get up on you to wack you with their disk.

Well the only time I've ever seen flying Wraiths was when the FCON Virtual Server's Bridge started breaking into pieces, and a few dumb datawraiths got sucked away into the datastream.
I wonder if they got rezzed back to the real world too? ____________
