I was in my car today listening to the radio when I heard a commercial for Coors Light's new low carb beer Aspen Extreme. The commercial when into detail about the beer. Few carbs, great tasting and so on. The announcer then says let's hear what the public is saying about our product. The reference to TRON was a guy saying that he didn't have time to try the new beer because he got sucked into his computer and had to escape by using a blue glowing disk.
Keep an ear out for it
And for those of you who live in New York like me, I heard the commercial on 104.3FM, Q-104.

There - you see?
There are a LOT more TRON fans out there than one might think.
Perhaps this once waaaaaay overlooked film is now starting to be more appreciated... or perhaps a TRON fan just ended up working on the ad campaign. Still, a nod to TRON is a sign of greatness in my book

Man thats cool!
I bet more people get the reference than what one would think. There are alot of people who at least know of the movie Tron and half-way know what its about.

Hmm..... must be an "America Only" type commercial. I live in Canada and all we have is a Pong car commercial.

I guess so its an "American only". I haven't seen the piong pne yet over here. And I'm in the province of quebec.

I'm not sue if it's American only. I have never been to Canada but keep an eye out for COORs Light new beer called Aspen. Do they have sell Coors light in Canada or is it strictly Molson?

Both are sold but Molsen seem dominates the market. I guess it's because of the whole "I am CANADIAN" thing. Then again...... I don't really drink beer either..... I just know a lot more people who do.

From what I've heard, the American companies have never been able to sell beer too well in Canada, so maybe they try not to spend as much money advertising there. I know there isn't a lot of tension between the U.S. and Canada regarding merchandise, but I think it's a bit worse with beer. There's even a Starwars parody made a few years ago about a Canada brewery vs.. Bud I think it was?
