Hi there! My name is Kamui.EXE. And I was trying to create an online Tron-like RPG community except, I'm not entirly sure where to start. I was hoping someone here can help me out.
Can someone help point me in the right direction? Any ideas?

This is all I have now.
The universe I'm designing is, like I said, a little like Tron if you mixed a little Star Wars and Harry Potter in the mix.... or so that's what I'm thinking.

To find out how to format your text, click 'Forum FAQ' at the bottom of the page, right above the address (for this thread it would be 'Forums > General Discussion > *Shoots hand so high it goes through the ceiling*') and as for adding a avatar, (picture below your name) you'll need a picture host (such as www.photobucket.com) and then simply copy the address of the picture, as displayed. then, click 'Edit' right below your username at the top of te page. then paste the address into the box right next to 'Avatar'.
EDIT: Oh, and to use digicons, (like this:  ) click 'Digicons (right next to 'Forum FAQ') and simply type in the text above the digicon you want to use. like, to see  , type: [DJ] but replace [ ] with (). but as a note, some digicons are different based upon who you fight for. you can changes that in 'Edit' too.

Well, you need to judge how ambitous you really are
Coding a game isint simple, but its definitly doable. What experiance do you have...can you con some friends into it. A text adventure would be MUCH easier to do, but they are kindof a dying (dead?) breed. If you decide to make a full up 3d aventure, you are going to need a dedicated team. I would suggest using an engine that is premade, such as the utk4 engine (its free!). I would try and find a friend with the collectors ediiton of utk4 and borrow the training dvds over 100 hours of footage, great stuff. Using a premade engine will save you an amazing amount of work. Now you just need to design textures, levels, ui, and a few misc. code snippets to get overything to work together. Best of luck to you, Should be interesting to see what you come up with.

Actually, I was thinking of something along the lines of this:

and not an actual computer game. My computer programming skills aren't very strong. I'm more of a Cisco person. So anyways it's going to be played on a message board. I'm not sure how I'm going to set up the game rules and such there.
