I broke down and did it... and it's YOUR fault

on Saturday, May, 01, 2004 5:11 PM
Yes.

I did it.

And it is INDEED ALL of YOUR (collective TRON-Sector) fault!

I hope you're happy, now that I've finally given in to temptation.

Actually, I've wanted to do this since I heard about it over a year ago, before it was even on the market.

Some around here may not yet know the truth about me.

I've been hanging around The Sector, since last November... LOVE it here!

Watched the film many, many, many times - LOVE IT! But... I've never played .

I wanted to hold off on playing it until I had completed a few creative projects I was planning.

Well, plans get put off... and time keeps moving ahead.

I LOVE games, but I'm not much of a PC gamer at all... in fact, this is my first true PC game - not counting a handful of emulated classic games and the likes.

As you've probably figured out what "I broke down and did"... it was purchase .

FINALLY! The wait is over. Soon I will be experiencing the wonderful and interesting things I've read blurbs about around here.

I already know that the style and look of the original film is more to my liking than the updated imagery. But... it is TRON based and I've heard only GOOD things about the game.

And so now... well, in a few minutes anyway, I will break the seal at the top of the box and insert my disc. There is no large, molecular disintegrating laser behind me to digitize me in to the world of TRON... but I'm sure this game will come pretty darn close to that experience!

Uh... yeah...

DEFINATELY need a seat belt for this one!

If only you had told me that a couple hours ago... boy does my head hurt!

But oddly... I think I like the pain!

I'm REALLY having trouble pulling myself away from this game so far... was it like this for you?

Oh man... the wife's home... I should be spending some time with her now...

but...

THE CORRUPTION... I MUST save the system from the corruption!

But... the real world... must spend some time back in the real world...

Oh... why... WHY did I buy this game?

FREAKIN' SWEET!

Am I making any sense?

I'm really loaded with excitement right now!

This game REALLY pumps ya up, eh?

Man - I really need lessons on disc throwing, blocking, and how to NOT try and block when I DON'T have my disc in my hand!

My face hurts!

I've been smiling ear to ear since I started playing!

Heh, heh... Yeah, that game kicked my butt on a regular basis! Never would have gotten past some parts without cheating. But it was ok 'cause it was TRON!!

I've been thinking about reinstalling it, but I'm gonna wait till I finish URU again...

I expect it will also be kicking my butt regularly for some time to come, as I stumble my way around getting a feel for it. But it's VERY TRON, and VERY FUN!

So - you haven't played it yet either?

MY machine is far less than top of the line power-house (it does exceed the minimum requirements), but the games works great at a resolution of 800x600, with hardly any slowdown on my machine.

Minimum specs:
Win98/ME/2000/XP
Pentium 3, 500MHz of higher
256MB RAM
32MB Direct 3D-compatable video card, etc.
2.4MG free HD space
4X CD ROM

That's it in a nutshell.

GREAT game - you too, will get instantly ADDICTED to it, I'm sure!

The RealTodd

My current system doesn't even meet the bare minimum over here. Its a PII-233 with 394 megs of ram, 15 gigs ove hard disk space left, and a savage 4 chipset 16 meg video card. With Windows 2000 Professional on it. That's how slow my computer is running at , My other is an Old PIII-450 with a 4 meg video 192 megs of ram with a partition for windows 2000 and Windows XP pro on it. And neither will run on it. So until I can get the money coming in fgor an upgrade No can go for the game.

TheReelTodd (and everybody else here at TRON-SECTOR), if you wanna play Light Cycles online let me know or show up on the game grid some night around 10:00 Eastern. I just started playing TRON 2.0 online again and there is almost NOBODY on the servers. I could use some competition here.

BTW, remember to patch your game up to version 1.042 so you can get on the servers.

I play as MutoidMan.

Man, I so wish I could play LC online! But Cbridge Comm. has failed to deliver on their promise of getting cable internet out here by spring. Now they're saying "end of the year"...

Arrrrrrr! That be past my...

** clears throat **

Whoops - sorry about that - I just posted my pirate name in the other thread and I'm still in pirate mode here.

That's past my bedtime on week nights I have to get up so early in the morning and exercise for an hour before I shower and then have to get to work before anyone else arrives because I open.

BUT I'd really LOVE the chance to play against some of my TRON-Sector friends! That would be the coolest!

Do any of you play on the weekends at a particular time?

I'd probably get toasted really fast playing against real people (as opposed to the computer), but it would be really fun - do doubt!

Uh....

Ok, I have to make a little confession too.

I've never played ANYTHING on-line before... I don't even know how to set it up, or if I'd have trouble with my firewall or whatever.

If someone could shoot me a quick how-to, or a post a link to where I'd find "internet gaming 101" for TRON 2.0 lovers - that would be GREAT!

Thanks!

It was nice to see harpo989 and Sketch on the game grid last night.

Too bad you couldn't stay longer harpo989, there were some decent matches.

I began to shake off some of the rustiness I've accumulated and had a few really good games.

Anyway, TheReelTodd, to play TRON 2.0 online all you really need to do is select your connection speed in the multiplayer area of the options menu, pick a light cycle or super light cycle & color and that should do it. I don't know what firewall you have, but I have Norton Internet Security, and it automatically detects which programs are OK to let access the 'net. If you have a firewall with a similar feature you should be good to go.

See you all on the game grid!order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

That was a good round of Lightcycles last night Harpo989 and MutoidMan. I kept getting wall starts near the end. What an embarrassing way to start on the game grid pointed straignt at a wall.

Yeah, wallstarts are really lame; I wish BVI could fix 'em but I don't know if they can. If I don't start on a green speed zone, I find I can usually steer away from the wall just before I crash by holding down the decellerate key and tapping one of the strafe keys like mad.
